These are pretty sweet pics:
The picture, released today, was taken by NASA's Mars Global Surveyor.
Unlike any previous image of Earth from another planet, clouds and continental features are visible.
Malin and his colleagues took advantage of an alignment of Earth and Jupiter, as seen from Mars, on May 8. Mars and the Surveyor probe were 86 million
miles (139 million kilometers) from Earth and almost 600 million miles (1 billion kilometers) from Jupiter.
It is the first picture of Earth from another planet that resolves our world into a disk, rather than a point of light.
