A newly-uncovered and monumental calculating error in official US government climate data shows beyond doubt that climate scientists unjustifiably added on a whopping one degree of phantom warming to the official "raw" temperature record. Skeptics believe the discovery may trigger the biggest of all “climate con” scandals in Congress and sound the death knell on American climate policy.

Independent data analyst, Steven Goddard, today (January 19, 2014) released his telling study of the officially adjusted and “homogenized” US temperature records relied upon by NASA, NOAA, USHCN and scientists around the world to “prove” our climate has been warming dangerously.

Goddard reports, “I spent the evening comparing graphs…and hit the NOAA motherlode.” His diligent research exposed the real reason why there is a startling disparity between the “raw” thermometer readings, as reported by measuring stations, and the “adjusted” temperatures, those that appear in official charts and government reports. In effect, the adjustments to the “raw” thermometer measurements made by the climate scientists “turns a 90 year cooling trend into a warming trend,” says the astonished Goddard.

It shows that the peer review methodology that is supposed to keep science honest is broken or badly in need of repair.

How many times have we seen on ATS members putting threads up with no fact checking and then getting responses with no fact checking.

The big answer this gives is to the question, can you trust your government.

I'm just sick of the global warming alarmists. Al Gore sits in his 10k electric bill a month Mansion and fly's in his jet copters. Then he tells us we need to conserve energy and to turn off the lights.

Weather is effective by the sun, and we know it occurs in cycles. We are clearly going through global cooling due to less solar activity and sun spots. Then they want to ram down our throats that CO2 is the problem. When 400ppm CO2 today is 3-4x less than during the ice age.

These punks just want to tax the crap out of us in all different directions to keep us down and poor. Then they use our tax money to fund their billion dollar no big contracts to study some phony global warming hoax. When we know they just pocket the money.

This needs further study, if true very interesting, at this point it's just something to look into.

Here's a good place to start. It's sort of amusing that the corrections made actually address complaints about the effects of urban "heat islands" and the placement of observation stations made by warming deniers.
