REAl survival foods

In my area, (and I suspect in most places), food is all around us. I don't think I could go more than 10 feet without spotting numerous food sources. Birds, snakes, frogs, lizards, insects, etc. are all around. Not even counting more traditional sources such as fish, squirrel, rabbit, etc.
