Obama solicits ideas for ways to sidestep Congress

Obama is looking for ways to by-pass Congress in all ways possible.

As he sits there nervously clicking his pen, he is calling for *Ideas* to promote the agenda without actually passing laws.

He wants those ideas from his appointed Cabinet people as well as from Mayors of cities.

The failures to negotiate are taking their tolls on his time limits to actually produce the goods for the handlers it seems.

He is desperately crying for help now.

I wonder what he has in mind for the majority of American citizens ?

He seems to continue to **- Ignore -** the fact that the U.S. House of Representatives actually represents the majority of American citizens.

As President Obama prepares for his State of the Union speech Tuesday night, he has solicited members of his Cabinet for ideas of executive actions he could take without Congressional approval that would further his goal of tackling income inequality.

In the first weeks of January, Obama has repeatedly said he he has a “pen and his phone” and will use them to bypass Congressional gridlock and help his agenda.

While White House spokesman Jay Carney said he didn't want to preview the president's speech, he said no one should be surprised that he's going to “reemphasize his capacity” as president to both work with Congress and use his executive authority to help create more opportunities for hardworking Americans.

President Obama told a group of mayors at the White House on Thursday that he’s relying on them to help advance his agenda when Congress won’t act.

“I want to work with Congress whenever and wherever I can. But the one thing I’m emphasizing to all my Cabinet members is we’re not going to wait,” Obama told a group of 250 mayors at the White House. “Where Congress is debating things and hasn’t been able to pull the trigger on stuff, my administration’s going to move forward, and we’re going to … do it in partnership with all of you.”

“Every day mayors are proving that you don’t have to wait for the gridlock to clear in Congress in order to make things happen,” he said.

Its certainly not something I actually thought Id see in my lifetime.. and the hubris to even speak this out loud as he does to media! I guess we can not say we didnt see this coming when it happens. We had always tossed around ideas concerning the change of the US. Who did what and the possible outcomes.. those kind of convos. Never in my personal wildest dreams did I think it would be this bold... disregarding congress and protocol.. and it being done so blatantly!

I hope this starts a bad case of cannibalism within both parties. I will enjoy watching them eat eachother alive from within. Then maybe we can get back to business in trying to move the US into a new global economy and etc.. without losing ourselves ( or giving ourselves away as our administration wants to do and is doing as we speak).

Actually they do not represent the majority of people. Through gerrymandering, a minority of the population now has more representation in the house than the majority. The Senate actually has a better representation of the population now due to state level elections that can't be gerrymandered.

each district is set by population boundaries.

each state sets the boundaries according to the U.S. Constitution, using the Census.

as for "gerrymandering", can we find any real genuine cases that were not addressed in the courts?

Youre definitely right about that. There are a few, of course, but from what we personally see nad hear... he has very very little mil support with active, non active, retired... and even contractors. He lost HUGE support then he allowed the UN to control our troops. This whole thing could potentially get a lot..I guess youd say... "intense" before its over.

Actually, my remark was a poorly disguised reference to his purging of the upper ranks of the military. High ranking officers may be more willing to support him, if given a sweet promotion.
