Just watched this video and thought it was worth sharing with you guys.

This amazing video documents the story of Wounda, one of the more than 160 chimpanzees living at the Jane Goodall Institute's Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo.

Thanks to the expert care provided at Tchimpounga, Wounda overcame significant adversity and illness and was recently relocated to Tchindzoulou Island, one of three islands that are part of the newly expanded sanctuary. Dr. Jane Goodall was on hand to witness Wounda's emotional release, and now you can too.

(Long version here: Wounda released )

It almost seems like the chimpanzee is actually saying 'thank you' to her carer.

Now I know enough about animal psychology to understand this reaction might be easily explained by their instinctive behavior in such situations, but still, I'm a firm believer in the fact animals have consciousness, especially chimpanzee, and that this could be some sort of gratefulness or something similar to it.

Anyways, beautiful video nonetheless and thumbs up for this woman.

If humans stopped being such ignorant psychopaths they would KNOW that all animals, mammels and even insects can develop relationships with human beings. And that they all have senses, and have feelings and thoughts.

And 100% consciousness , in fact they have souls just like us too!

End all animal cruelty and get with the program animals feel deeply as we do!

The ape in the video is NOT showing appreciation he is showing the tenderness that was shown to him from her. He' is reflecting the kindness he has received whilst in her care, and she is the one whom he has clung to in his rehabilitation into the wild.

Stop trying to put a human perspective onto animals they have very deep and far more peaceful souls than humans will ever have!
