I was personalmessaging w someone who started to sound like different people, one hand unaware of the last message I sent to the other hand, I guess. Well I'm flawed, maybe moreso than you, (whomever) and only too late did I see that they newly registered and made a boatload of posts so as to personalmessage and make a thread. I'm sure now it was an op of some kind. I asked if (they) got my previous message, when (they) replied before, as if (they) did not even see my more even previous'er message. Like a bunch of Keystone Cops online. (Or crooks) My personal policy from now on, will be to verify that someone is a real individual and unpaid troller, but that will be a puzzle to surmise. I'm making this thread too, to refer it to whoever pms me from now on. We don't like to make people feel unwelcome, but a reasonable and real person will understand. If they don't, then there is something wrong. A danger zone.

There is/was a bug with PMs, where if you, as the sender, read something that you sent, it marked the message as "read" for the other guy, as well, so if they weren't on their toes, messages could go missing because they didn't get a notification. This might explain the behavior that you're seeing, though, yes, be careful in contacting others.

Thanks so very much for that FYI, it's most helpful. Though it's still suspicious for me when someone makes very many posts just as soon as they register, enough to start pming people and make threads.
Ha! I always immediately read my own sents to make sure they look okay no stupid misspellings.
Thanks again.

You, yourself, come across as 'bot like'.

As a robot agent this highly offended me. Do you not think us robot agents have feelings too? If you cut me do I not bleed?

Also:

We don't like to make people feel unwelcome, but a reasonable and real person will understand.

Who is this we? Are you more than one person?

I really liked your work in the Golden Globe Winning movie "HER."

TKDRL, you and your non carbon based ilk would bleed a blue chemical glue, if you were cut. That is what I was raised to believe. And why not? You will take most of our jobs by 2035, according to another thread. Which I totally believe, no sarcasm.
We, is the conscientious village. (Note I did not say collective, I said, village.) You didn't build this site, TK. We....built this site.
Yes We Can!

And a previous poster (AGENT) is lying. I do not have a Golden Globe. I sent in paperwork for an ObamaGlobe.
(Regrettably.)

I have been a member here since 2007, and can safely say that although I have communicated with some people who were showing signs of severe depression, mania, psychosis (various) and other mental trauma related symptoms, I have never come across a member who appeared, from the way they posted, to be anything other than a human being.

There have been members (who do not remain so for very long) who trotted out the very same responses to criticism, and suggestions, every time they encountered an intellect beyond their own. There may have been people here before who had been, or thought that they had been, part of thought control experimentation, by either government bodies, or cults. The thing with responding negatively toward persons who have altered thought processes, no matter how they are come by, is that if challenged, some may revert to a more dangerous mode of thought.

I believe it is the responsibility of every one of us members, to be vigilant toward the mental health of the rest of our number. We are each of us golden, unique little nuggets of thought in a sea of madness, and we should treasure one another as such. If you see a members activity as being cause for concern, then take a minute to consider the possibility that the person you think might be a robot, may actually be having a psychotic episode of some sort, and may become a danger to themselves or others if not handled carefully. If that ceases to become an option in conversation with such a person, it may be better to studiously avoid interacting with the subject matter of their particular interest, since saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment, could lead to any one of a hundred unfortunate outcomes.

Care about the well being of your fellow members, look out for the warning signs. If they are caught early, traumatic experiences, and horrifying lapses in thought processes, and their all to often horrendous consequences, may be averted.

You make an important point. I forget that Jared Lee Laughner hung out on here. (Erad 3) But my issue had felt very different than a troubled soul, and may even have been glitches, as informed to me be a previous poster.
