This post is about a simple observation from an old movie that was way ahead of its time. A good movie for sure check it out!

At 6min and 11 sec into the film the character is selecting a station and the Radio host states
... it's a little after 2 am on
December 30th, 1999... the second to
last day of the whole darn century,
and the phone lines are open. Dan

Shorty after that the host asks....

So Dan, are you looking forward to
the New Year?

Not really. I mean what's the
point? Nothing changes New Years
day.
The economy sucks, gas is over
three bucks a gallon, *fifth grade
kids are shooting each other at
recess ... the whole thing sucks,
right? So what the hell are we
celebrating?

Keep in mind this film is from 1995 and it depicts December 30th, 1999 in this part of the movie.
It is important to know that the price of gas in 1995 was no were near 3 bucks a gallon.
The price of gas in the year 1995 on average was about $1.07 per gallon.
In fact it's not even close to that much on December 30th 1999,costing about $1.27 a gallon.
