The only one to blame here is the guy they're talking about. Yes, I honor him for serving his country for 30 years, but come on. He gets a $40,000
/ year pension. It's his choice to live in a van feeling sorry for himself when there are people making far less than $40,000 / year that are making
good homes for their family.
Yes, vets should get treated better than they do, but this is a far stretch from someone not earning a dime. He needs to make the best out of his
retirement and with his qualifications and his will to have employment, he could do it without issue.
Sorry to sound cold, but his pension alone is more than a lot of people make in a couple of years with the economy in the shape it's in. I saw an
article this morning saying there are 92 million American's out of work. I'm thinking 99.9% of them would be more than happy with $40,000 / year
income.
