Is anyone else getting a DNS error for most, if not all, .mil domains?

I've never heard of .mil domains. Who controls it, or is it publicly owned?

Oh, is this the new domain that was exclusively built for the military? I heard it runs incredibly faster than ours.

yeah, it's made for them, not sure about how much faster it is than anything else, it all runs on the same pipes

For quite a few months I have problems with .mil websites. Not only did they remove huge ammounts of info from their website since 9-11 whole sites are unavailable, and show DNS errors.

Somehow I feel they do/did that on purpose...

I haven't really tried to find info from .mil websites, but about half a year ago, several airforce bases were offline...
