44 today. Can't believe the changes I've seen in this country/world in my life. When I was a child, nobody locked their doors. Neighbors knew each
other. People stopped to help stranded motorists. People weren't afraid to open their doors in the middle of the night. Police were friendly and
helpful. Honor and respect flourished in society(where I lived). Politicians still lied through their teeth then but feared the American people. "I
know my constitutional rights" didn't get you tazered by the law. Everyone was Christian. Movie endings were unpredictable. Kids behaved and respected
adults. Being gay meant you were happy. Everyone had a job. Portable radios grew larger while every other electronic device shrunk.
I cannot begin to imagine what the next 44 will bring.
