You know what's so unique about the Israel/Palestine conflict? Violence is just met with more violence. Say this scenario happened in the US, a sniper shoots a border patrol agent, an investigation between the US & Mexican authorities begins which can lead to arrests. Instead Palestine is met with missile & ground attacks, sometimes full out invasions (Operation Cast Lead). Problem for the Paleistians is they're out gunned & suffer far worse consequences than the Israelis. Israeli counter strikes are far more devasting than Palestian attacks.

Too bad Palestine can't become a legit nation that had a govt that worked with the Israelis to find, arrest, & prosecute the terrorists.

RIP to all those who've lost their lives in these attacks.

Once upon a time, this area was under the rule of the Egyptian Empire.... and that of the Persian Empire, and Alexander the Great, and the Roman Empire, and the Ottoman Empire, and other empires..... its not Palestine. The smaller state of Israel, whose creation to begin with was of questionable judgement, was attacked by a group of Arab nations and then WON. THEY WON. THEY TOOK CONTROL OF LANDS THEY CONQUERED.... and the important part, perhaps, was it was AFTER THEY HAD BEEN ATTACKED FIRST. Why would they give back land to the losers? Since when do conquerors give back land? Face it, the Arabs lost. Israel rules. The borders in that area are no more than 100 years old anyway! The current countries didn't even exist before World War 1! It was alllll the Ottoman Empire until they lost and the Europeans took control and created new borders and countries. This is what HAPPENS with mankind. We fight. There are winners and there are losers. Do the Israelis treat the Palestinians particularly well? No. Do the Palestinians continue to Poke the Tiger? Yes. Does most of the money donated to the Palestinians go for infrastructure, schools, hospitals, parks, clean water? No. It goes to corrupt officials, getting more weapons for poking the tiger, bribery, and so on. Arafat's wife lives in a nice villa in France. There is a great deal of corruption in Gaza and the West Bank when it comes to money coming in. When the tiger gets poked, it bares its teeth and claws and takes a swipe and bites. Sometimes innocent people are killed.... on both sides. And retaliation is the name of the game. In this case, the media is using a child for its stories, but its really just the same story over and over. People in power play power games. Winners and losers, empires, conquerors and conquered, innocents killed. Sad, but just another day in the Middle East.

wow ...IT's Christmas...So what....It is a pagan holiday that is now based on consumerism.

The point being nothing to do with Christmas...Sorry not all people believe in Christmas...so it being Christmas is of no concern here...just as there were people on here instead of celebrating Christmas...the point here is a mother and child indiscriminately were killed...no matter whom they were or what their background was or what day it was.

personally anyone whom chooses to pick up a weapon and use it against another human should be dealt with appropriately....any government whom says it is okay to use weapons against another person should be dealt with appropriately....none of this has anything to do with Christmas unless you actually believe that crap.

It hasn't been that long since Israel assasinated that Iranian Deputy Minister. Maybe it's not too late for Iran to launch a retalitory strike. First, they would have to get by that pesky habit of not attacking other countries.

You may want to look up something called international law. Annexing land by force is illegal. Every bit of land Israel controls outside of the 48 borders is illegal. That is why many European and American organizations are starting to boycott the occupied lands.

You may want to brush up on the people that live in Palestine. There are roughly around 200K Christians living in Palestine and about 25% of them live in the area around Bethlehem. So chances are good that the child was a Christian. And the modern day Santa is in no way Christian.

It seems in following this over the years, Israel and the Palestinian Authority do have at least a working and functional relationship. That's West Bank of course, with Gaza being a radically different regime ruling the people. So radically different in fact, a few stories appeared after Egypt took their country back from the MB, quoting members of the West Bank Palestinian Authority, hoping people in Gaza took their leaders out at the same time.

It's the first time I'd ever seen the Gaza and West Bank control systems clash SO directly and publicly, one actually advocated for the violent overthrow of the other. Perhaps if Hamas is someday removed from power (They kneecap competition and/or throw them off rooftops ..so defeat by election is a 0 chance) the PLA and Israelis can find a way to co-exist. They'll never like each other....but the citizens of both sides would happily settle for just not killing each other, I'll bet.

People get killed in an airstrike in Gaza.

(at least the real greeks)). If something happens to israelis - jewish interests, I wouldnt care less, of going to war, for them. I would let them die and vanish instead.
