Someone who can go out in the cold and make beauty such as this for others, is truly doing it with a warm heart.

OP stated that the artist would need a "bird's eye view" to do what he does. Myself, I think all he would have to have is a GPS. With GPS positioning, he should be able to plot out his course, see where he has been and where he would like to go. No E.T. inspiration needed. Just a lot of time, a lot of patience, and a good GPS device. Oh, and probably some electric socks to keep his feet warm.

That would take a lot of plotting!

But then, maybe I'm not up-to-date with all of the new electronic gadgets out there.

But, I suppose if he has the patience to walk it, he has the patience to plot it.

I would like to believe that one man walking created these intricate and very beautiful patterns but I am having difficulty in doing so. Any video of him doing it available?

If real that's utterly fantastic

Ohhh those are so pretty. That amazes me. How does he do this ?

I imagine he pulls a computer simulation and studies it prior to going out and walking
these beautiful patterns. He would need to pre-figure the measurements and scale
size... so on so forth. It is probably laid out on a grid that he can study.

I imagine him using some type of measured rope system for placing between the geometric
shapes.

Maybe he prints out a stencil of sorts, similar to a paint numbers art piece. He might
have a map of which sections to walk first, second, third and stay in order until completed.

This is alot of hard work and effort.

WOW

Here are some videos of more of his art. I didn't see any showing him making them. Hummm............. ???? Interesting.

These are mesmerizing with that flute music in the background!!!

This one tells how he calculates the design before walking it.

Interesting that they didn't mention this image is a fractal Mandelbrot Set, which in itself is pretty amazing to redraw on a large scale by foot.

So art is only art if it's not in the snow? I don't understand. They got a photograph of it. What more do you want ya snob?

How beautiful. Clearly from a mind that has a good grasp of spatial reasoning.

Guess I could say, "Wow! how aTRACKtive! hahahaha

No. Creativity is important to me, and though I myself would never "waste my time" in this way, I can still appreciate the detail and beauty. This guy created fractals by just walking in snow. Astounding symmetry. Very nice.
