Now if with those deep pocket could come some respect for others it would have been nice.
Minding own business would also have been nice. Fixing once own problems might have been cheaper that making war all over the world to hide your own issues too. If you did that you might have suffer a bit of embarrassment but would not have been the worlds most indebted country in the world.
Ohh btw you dont have the deepest pockets just the fastest printers. Se the rest of the world know the meaning of the word restraint.

Dear Kenny are you still holding the revolution against us ?
Understandable since this is such a beautiful and geographically diverse nation while England is ....well ...damp.

I have nothing against Americans, But your government is not your government, it panders to corporate agenda's....To the point you are referred to as the United Corporations of America. And when criticised we have many as yerself that jump to its defence....I don't get it, you know your government does wrong, you've heard of Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning, they been telling you how corrupt your government is for a while now yet you still can't take criticism.

I think part of this may be off-topic, forgive me.

I have noticed an increase in the efforts of some to derail threads lately. The techniques are nearly identical. Create a straw man, knock it down, keep knocking it down regardless of any facts or logic introduced, throw in some barely related charges of evil doing, and insult the other posters as much as possible without quite crossing into T&C violations. The Mods respond to the people who get overheated in defending against these disruptors, and everything continues until the sane just give up and walk away, leaving the disruptors claiming victory and vindication.

In an effort to turn this thread away from some of the barely sane comments of disruptors, I'd like to ask a question.

Does this action by China connect directly with their claim of even more waters as territorial and their claimed expanded air space? I know these are largely directed against Japan and Japan is an ally, but we haven't been treating our allies very well in the last five years.

Has China calculated that they can force Obama to back down (again), leaving Japan on it's own? If Obama is unwilling to consider military action, perhaps all we're doing is bluffing and China is prepared to call it.

Hardly provocative.
I watched Soviet vessels performing surveillance on our ships while we were on maneuvers. They were close enough that I could see their sailors on the deck and we didn't attempt anything forceful with them.... because we were in International waters.

Fishing trawlers usually. Only they had an awful lot of antennae...

And that has what to do with the Chinese captain acting like some spastic moron almost causing a flare up in international waters?

Have you noticed whats been going in China lately? I see thousands of business internationals. Many are now starting to refer to them as China.inc

You really should learn history. The US AVG was in China prior to December 7th. They were all pilots that had been "discharged" from the US military, and volunteered. They were recalled and replaced by regular Army units after Pearl Harbor.

As I posted back on page one, No different to the US pilots that warned off Iranian planes in International airspace !

I don't think they have bases in what, 170 countries, imposing their agendas on others with the use of Drones killing thousands of innocent civilians in the process.

Oh, and from what I have seen reported China executes those that are corrupt, no matter how big a fish it was.....Honor seems to be a big thing to them.

Because the Chinese ship was apparently an LST. An LST is in no sense of the weird a warship.

I'm confused.....are you saying I was wrong because there were inactive American service men there ?

When the fighters would intercept Russian aircraft they were occasionally known to swap centerfolds.

They were not inactive at all. The Army regularly resupplied them, provided aircraft, munitions, etc. They were inactive on paper, but they had the full backing of the military and government.

So, officially I was correct, but unofficially the US was involved while claiming neutrality.

And it was before 1941. The AVG is one of the reasons that China held out as well as they did.

To be honest.

I can kinda sorta see China's side of this. They are a growing economic power and feel they have a right to expand but in which direction? West South West? That takes them into India. West North West? That takes them into Russian Territory. East, North East, South East etc? Japan, South Korea, the Philippine, Australia all of whom are US Allies not to mention US interests or countries who are not really allies but have recently asked for US Naval presence such as Vietnam *If you could imagine that one*

The US and China future regional relations?

I often imagine two obese people trying to sit next to each other on an over crowded bus on a long road trip. Not exactly the most desirable of situations but doable.
