That's communism. You know, the redistribution of wealth.

Athletes turn a profit. Soldiers don't. Soldiers are bought and sold rather cheaply nowadays. It may not be nice, but it's the truth.

Patriotism is easily exploited.

Well thats whats wrong with people these days. Their priorities are mixed up.

Brimstone never met a cause worth breaking a sweat over that wasn't directly related to his own immediate gratificaton.

I don't mean to bash but Brimstone has the tendancy to make some akward statements. I agree that soldiers should be paid more than athletes. All athletes do is play a game for a living, which is everybodies dream job. Plus it's not like athletes set a good example for our children, all they do is teach kids to focus on sports over school. Soldiers on the other hand are disciplined and heroic, the perfect role model in my opinion.

That's because the truth is often times hard to swallow. It's rarely clean and almost never nice. You confuse akward with blunt. I live in the real world. Soldiers choose to be civil servants. They choose patriotism over money. That's ego, and I don't pay for ego. If they don't like it, they should quit. Also, they chose Bush over Kerry. They chose tax cuts for athletes instead of pay raises for their families, so they aren't on food stamps.

They chose the life they now live. They chose to extend it for the future.

It's not my fault. I didn't send them there. I upheld my end of the bargain, I paid my taxes and helped fund one of the largest military budgets in the history of the world. I'm also a rich white guy and I did my one good thing for the year, I voted for Kerry. Unfortunately, millions of you voted against your best interests to give me a tax cut. And I thank you, but you also voted to make yourselves second class citizens, and that's your own damn problem.

It's too late to go home now.

Well buddy, life isn't fair is it?

I think it is because we don't want greedy people in the military. If all the greedy people join military making it is a business, do you think the soldiers will fight on if they get paid in millions?

When we have soldiers across the world dying for our country and we have athletes here in the U.S. providing entertainment. Why are the athletes getting paid millions of dollars while our soldiers are actually making a real sacrifice. I believe that this is wrong. Entertainment is important, but losing or winning a game is not a matter of life and death. Soldiers should have priority of salary.

AMEN they dont get paid enough to die and if they survive they have to fight for a measly benefit pay out most times under 1200.00 a month if they dont get rejected cause of lack of evidence, to me lack of evidence is not valid if a man goes over seas and comes back with a rare disease when they were in perfect health before hand, lack of eveidence isnt when a man with no holes in his body comes back filled with lead and holes from extracted lead than could be removed, lack of evidence is not mental illness that was not present in a person who was handed a gun by the US goverment, when a civilian with mental problems cant join or even own a gun, these people are dying for real and getting hurt for real , now give them money they deserve for real.....No not millions but something better than they get or have to fight for when they get back and are denied compensation.........The US goverment is giving money to the families of Iraq for just being in the way and being at risk and our boys are keeping them alive so they can get ripped off,.Billions given to strangers, but not our own children it sucks.
