"This year Afghanistan has established a double record -- the highest drug cultivation in the country's history, and the largest in the world," Antonio Maria Costa, executive director of the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, told a news briefing.

Here is the UN's chance since the Oil-for-food money has dried up. Step in and set up a heroin-for-food program. They seem to already know the prices pretty well, somebody has probably already done the accounting

So much for Americas War on Drugs. Don't expect this problem to be fixed for a long time.

I'm sure UN will catch up to this idea, as the US already has, and it seems to have no problem with increased heroin production.

For anyone who might wonder, Afghanistan was, and still is the supply of 90% of worlds heroin. With profits far reaching..

Valued at $2.8 billion, the opium economy is now equivalent to over 60 percent of Afghanistan's 2003 gross domestic product.

Perhaps US is supporting this?
Someone is, and is making millions of dollars, without seeing the problems that this causes for the world. Drug addictis are terrorist down the street. Doing anything necessary to take care of the craving.

Haha..They always do it behind your back don't worry. I think they mainly criticise your tech. First they steal your tech, make it even better and then tell you "look how good we've made it" and then they'll sell it back to you.
