The USAF TX

But it appears that the USAF are starting to look to replace it's Talons after a very long time

And that Boeing and Saab are going to play nice:

Nice picture on the line, but do you think that this will be a sole training or maybe a trainer and cheap replacement to the F16.

The F16, FA18 and F15, are getting old and the production runs are starting to draw down. Could this be the new low end in ten years?

TX, F15 /FA18, F35 and F22?

This program has been stopped and started repeatedly over the years. The most interesting recent development is the teaming of Boeing and SAAB, who may potentially offer the Gripen as their entry.

What ever happened to the names like spitfire and Hercules. They just put letters on the planes now. They never have teeth on the front anymore either.

Rules and Regulations. They went to low visibility paint for many years. They're coming back to high vis paint now though and the A-10s are putting them back on a few.

23d Wing USAF ("Flying Tigers") still put "smiles" on their planes regularly. Looks right on an A-10. Looked pretty fitting on the chin of the A-7's they flew previously as well.

For many years they couldn't put anything like that on the planes. It was depressing not getting to see them. I love the high vis paint, and the schemes that they put on the birds.
