Maybe it's because earth's magnetic poles are shifting. The tectonic plates are scrubbing together displaceing seawater and causeing something in the air above to make sonic booms...

It could be something from the earth itself.

I think they could atleast setup 3 or 4 sensors to triangulate the source

in the case that the tectonic plates moved there would be earthquakes there have been none.

a sonic boom was the first thing that came to mind, but its not that.

Why?

The poles aren't shifting tho

The plates are allways moving, and there aren't any plate/plate boundaries in virginia

It could be something from the earth itself.

Sounds sensible enough.

I was in Denver Colorado for the SVP meeting the first week of the month. A few of us were standing around and there were these very loud booms. However, they were comming from the direction of a construction site (generally anywas). No explosions, seemed kind of late things being dropped.

I don't think its wise or reasonable to try to correlate unexplained noises from all around the world. Obviously there are numerous reasons for such sounds to have occured. I think that the repetition of these booms is interesting for the viriginia case. However, sonic booms do seem rather likely.

What direction are these sounds coming from. Do they always come from the same area? How frequent are they? Time apart from one another?

i used to be a navy pilot until i had to eject and broke my legs. so i know the rules about breaking the sound barrier over populated areas. it is you cant do it the shock wave will break glass knock over small trees. i did it at a air show and the windows were boarder up for miles. and on the other hand a sonic boom has a differant sound this sounded like downtown Bagdag from 10 miles away.

I know the date on these story links are old that im posting here but as i was sitting wondering if the booms are some sort of magnetic or sonic weapon and reading the links, the electrical power needed to generate a weapon might indeed be able to do this in its early uncontrollable stages...Electrical whizzes of the forums please help us out with this...Tesla Coil maybe?

This sounds similar to "The Montauk Project", in which the government was carrying on experiments on teleportation and time travel that started with the Philadelphia Experiment in the 1940s. They were using an old abandoned army base on Montauk Point on Long Island until 1983. There were all kinds of reports of strange power surges and outages during that time. And they were definitely using Tesla Coils....

i now work for a goverment contactor and ive talked to many people about this and none of them nose waht it is. one of them said we have been killing the earth for years now it may be dieng these sounds, tidele waves, earthquakes, oceans cooling and volcanic activaty may be a sign of planet death, but he has no proof so he can openly say that.

and i bought a new house

Nygdan,
What you may have been hearing in the Denver area is weapons grade steel being tempered. I used to have an employee who worked in that industry. He told me that they temper the steel with underground explosions. When I was younger, I worked for a guy who had sold his ranch near Denver because all the underground explosions made his wife nervous. I think that may have been related also.

i use to live close to cheama annax in williamsburg va. where they blow up old bombs. its not the same noise its more basey and its all around you it doesnt just come from one direction. you cant pinpoint it down to one dirtection. you feel as well as hear it.

Fo shizzy?

Is that something thats generally acknowledged? These were pretty load tho, they did sound like they were above ground.

Come to think of it, i don't think i've ever heard underground explosions. Interesting idea.

Is it possible the "boom" is coming from above, perhaps at a very high elevation and more focused towards the ground? In any case, it must come from some where, and thus a source. It could still be triangulated even if sourced from above. A recording would be best, so to determine the frequency(s)/wave forms involved ( prior during and post ). When you "feel" it, is it felt as the boom was transmitted more thru the ground or thru the air? Perhaps an under water recording could help to ( like from inside your swimming pool ).

Came accross this interesting link about sound waves if anyone is interested...

the "feeling" is like standing close to a sub-wooffer but its also like some one is pushing on your chest from the inside.

i emailed a reporter freind of mine she is sending me the City of Richmond's "official" standing on the noises.

If it was the earth dying, im sure being here in cali with one of the most active fault lines in the us, we might be getting some of those booms. I think the sonic or magnetic weapon is more plausible. From the melted and dead birds to the pressures on chest from inside, sounds like magnetic or extremely electrical to me. again i ask the electrical whizzes of the forums to maybe detail what a high energy release of electrical power sounds like, or does it even have sound until it moves faster than sound???

OK , this is really odd . I would agree that from this decription that the sound may be somehow magnetic . This has happened here before and there was never any explination given or found that I have ever heard of. I know sound well and to do this it really must be vibrating quite stangely indeed.! This is worth looking into unless its a gov. project , if so I would say dont mess with it because it is something big.

I have worked with many types of "High Energy" systems. In the case of an electrical discharge/transfer, the electricity has no sound (movement or sharing of electrons across atoms makes no sound). This would be the case in a lightning strike.
The sound that is heard is the result of the atmosphere around the path that the lightning took, collapsing in on it's self after the energy discharge has completely and abruptly disintegrated everything in the path. The air in the path is super heated to a temp between 15,000 to 60,000 deg, it expands violently and then contracts, like an explosion that happens in the blink of an eye.

Yes i know about the sound of lightning and thunder and what and why its done. i found that info easily Lightning. Im talkin tesla coil or some form of device to that nature, actively reacting with the elements in the environment in a release of some sort when directed or activated. Is there some sort of area effective weather that is a connection between the places these booms have been reported? IE high humidity, low pressure, maybe even low magnetic field around those areas that reacts with the release? Can something be built that puts out the force of 2-10-100-1000 strikes at the same time? maybe to disrupt the magnetic flight of a craft?
