Haven't gone through every reply, so someone else might have said this, but...I was there, not too far in the past. You are left with a choice: you assimilate, or you make your own path. I chose the latter, and while I have dealt with a lot of ridicule from those who gravitate to one group or another, after awhile that turns into music, because every bit of ridicule is only a confirmation that you've thought for yourself and followed your own heart.

A large percentage of humanity really sucks; that's life, but it doesn't have to be YOUR life.

I'm 29 and I feel pretty much the same. There is a heavy weight on our shoulders today and the future is even heavier. I struggle daily not to surrender and slough off the weight and leave it to others but my soul is yearning for a better life for everyone.

However,
I do not see a real solution for all the bull floating around... There is no solution to our current state that everyone would be happy with the result. We have been too conditioned to technological advances and without the horrible state of the world.. most people in non 3rd world countries would not know how to live.

The more I learn the more nothing makes sense .. Real sense... in real terms. Meaning in what matters day to day. What have we done?

So, are we going to wave the white flag while chiding the half of the country being walked on (while telling them to leave) or are we going to grow a pair and start fixing this economic dump up?

How exactly are normal Americans supposed to "fix" this economic dump? How is anyone at all, let alone average Joe Schmoe going to do anything that will impact the banks and special interests that actually run things?

I hear these statements from people on here sometimes, everyone seems to think that everyone should be doing something about it, but what can one person do in the grand scheme of things? All i can really influence is my own little world I live in.

The system has to implode on itself. There is no other way. It cannot continue as it has and it cannot be reformed since the people running the system are so heavily bought into it.

So what are ''normal'' people supposed to do then, just sit around and do nothing? thats the problem, sitting around saying we cant do anything about it means nothing is going to get done. Plenty of world altering events have been kicked off by the actions of one individual, or a small grounp of individuals. You need an attitude adjustment, and so does the bulk of the planet if we are going to survive this catastrophe in the making, cause if and when TSHTF, its going to be a mess thats way to big to clean up by who's left after the crash

The "Help" and "Hands Up" you are looking for is at the END OF YOUR OWN ARM.

Sadly the College Advisors that tell you get in this particular Technology or that to be insured a 6 figure income or the Politician that makes all those promises that you believe, both are selling a bill of horse pooh to get you to continue to support them with you tuition or vote that keeps them in the BED OR ROSES and you looking for the perceived PROMISED BED OF ROSES ...

Well Welcome to the real world where it is your initiative, hustle, education and persistence that will get you an opportunity to go for that BED OF ROSES , WELL THAT AND ABOUT 10 YEARS OF ON THE JOB TRAINING AND SOMEONE DIEING to make an opening for the 50 odd contenders.

Truth is that your Politicians with NAFTA and All types of other trade agreements have sent the American Manufacturing Industry to foreign countries where they have cheap labor and they have Contracted the Engineering and High Tech jobs to the Countries where free higher education give everyone a Master Degree.

Truth is You have been conned into thinking the American Dream is a given just for being an American when actually the American Dream was the freedom to wish big and with hard work it was obtainable, but NO GIMME'S

Ya but someone put it this way....

the g=v wont' change, the economy won't change much, the structure of society won't change much, So you have to look at it objectively. See that's all gonna remain the same. So to look at it and curse it, or figure it needs to be fixed, or changed before you can do anything is pointless.

What I'm saying is 2 things. A) you can't curse soil and sunshine. and B) you can wait for the perfect conditions to come around before you plant your seeds. You'll only waste yoru life if you do that. All you can do is take advantage of the fact that you have soil to plant. So you can "do something with your life" and you can do it "now in the midst of all the crap out there". If you wait all you'll do is waste your life. And there's one thing you can't renew or recycle is your time.

So work with what you got, where you are, with what you have. Start planting right now, and forget about the bad weather, the competition, the lack of skills, the harsh conditions. It doesn't matter. YOu just got to go ahead and do what you can where you are with what you got. You don't have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great. And anything worth doing is worth doing badly, until you eventually get good enough at it to do it well.

So don't feel disenfranchised. Work with what you got. Forget about what's out there. Focus on what's in you and what you have to offer and work with. You can't wait for perfect conditions before you get started in life, it's not gonna happen, and you can't change it. G=v will always be corupt, competition will always be there, problems will always be there, the conditions will always be harsh. That's the nature of life. Anyone who told you life was gonna be easy or fair, lied.

All you can do is just try away so you don't waste your time.

I did'nt say nothing can be done....I asked what can we do?

I mean, I guess I could go set myself on fire in hopes of starting a revolution like the Arab spring but that's already been tried recently....and nobody I know even heard of it (except here of course)

So, care to tell me what one person can do to change the system instead of berating people for the "wrong attitude"?
