Hey guys so basically I want to start making a few different things, preferably with a long shelf life,

I know you can make tooth paste out of bi carb soda and water, but I want a way I can make a jar or bottle up and be used for a longer period off time,

with the Soap, Cream and Disinfectant I would like preferably plant products but again with long shelf life.

thanks

There is a salve that I make. It can be tweaked with your choice of essential oils, and the shelf life is indefinite. We use it up pretty quickly, but I did find a jar that is a couple of years old that I'm using.
The big issue with providing a recipe is that I don't use one. I estimate and put it together from memory, nearly always tweaking the amounts of each ingredient. As best as I can explain it here you go.

Beeswax pellets- about a small handful
Olive oil- about a cup ( per single batch)
Vitamin E capsules- approx. 6-8
Lanolin- a good squirt from a bottle meant for breast feeding mothers
Fresh or dried herbs- of your choice depending on final use
Essential oils- of your choice depending on use

In small sauce pan (I have one just for this use) steep herbs in olive oil to infuse, keep temp low, infuse for 20 minutes or so

Strain out herbs, put infused oil back into pot, add lanolin and melt on low

Add vitamin E caps, you can toss in whole caps or drip the oil out of each one. Whole caps just take a bit longer to melt completely.

Toss in beeswax pellets, melt completely

Stir in essential oils and immediately remove from heat

With a clean funnel, transfer into sterile jars and cap with sterile lids
Enjoy your salve.

Some herb/oil combos and their uses:
Tea tree oil, calendula herb, thyme herb, rosemary oil, eucalyptus oil -first aid
Rose petals, calendula herb, lavender herb and oil- nice ladies blend
Rosemary herb and oil in extra amounts, calendula herb, lavender oil- made for eczema sufferer, it worked great

I use the dried petals of the calendula flower, they have great skin healing properties.
I use these salves for dry skin, dry lips, scratches and scrapes on the kids. They have also cleared up minor rashes the munchkins have picked up.
Hopefully this helps a bit. The amount of beeswax determines the firmness of the finished product, you want it to stay semi solid without getting rock hard.
