Hi
I use a small alcohol stove for my crusader brew kit. Have done for 3 years now.
I made it myself using various ideas gained from the "tube" out of Redbull cans.
It has a very low profile (less than 1"). Holds enough fuel to boil 500ml of water. Takes far less time than the hexi/trioxane blocks that are
usually used and it doesn't foul up the bottom of my metal mug either
They work just as well as the Trangia brass stoves and Tatonka stainless versions too (having used both)
Also i just made another one for my Esbit coffee maker too!
I do however put Perlite in mine to stop the fuel from evaporating too quickly. this seems to help to increase burn time and stops the stove going
mental
and flaring up.
