it's so funny and a double standard at the same time...

I post a comment about how Richard Dawkins lost his wife and daughter because of his beliefs, he lost them well before he became a "known" atheists and bringer of truth to the public. He lost them to the Church because his wife wanted to raise her daughter in morality.

so there is a vengeance factor here to what he has become... in my psychoanalysis I was accused of character assassination of Richard Dawkins

Your video is made by the SAME PERSON that made the videos I posted. How is this hard to understand

so let me get this straight... you are saying the debunk and character assassination videos which you posted were made by and uploaded to youtube by LivingWaters dot com and uploaded and made by Ray Comfort himself?

if not then what does this have to do with the questions in the video I posted and the topic at hand? if not then you may admit you are wrong and only acting on your impulses which you have learned from other atheists like a textbook of methodology.

but the atheist textbook of methodology is not remotely similar to the "moral" methodology of the Bible...

LOL....are you saying that is not Ray Comfort in both of those videos? I don't know who they were uploaded by, but can tell you with certainty that Ray Comfort is the person in BOTH of those videos.

Blind Faith.....more true than ever.

yes he may be in those videos... which I did not watch for very long, because the presenter just wasn't doing well enough of a job.

but let me refresh your memory... it hasn't been very long since you posted it... but you CLEARLY STATE that the videos were made by the same person who made the video I posted, and that person is Ray Comfort.

would you like to debate or take to trial the words you spoken and typed?

thank you for your input...

Yes...the videos I posted were in fact the ones created by Ray Comfort himself. The person speaking in the video is simply explaining the lies. I am not sure how else to say it. You are obviously yet another blind follower and as such have become the equivalent of a bible literalist. Deny any evidence contrary to your belief and when presented with it, avoid and distract.

Here is a video POSTED by Living Waters showing exactly what he did in the example I gave....being deceitful in his manner of "spreading the word". He shows exactly what he does with a magnetic sign.

You also get a good idea of his editing room to see where he makes the magic questions happen.

And if you HAD watched all of the first video you can see a very good illustration of how this is done in a lot of interviews, even in MSM. It is an old trick and he is using it to the fullest.

Again...why don't you message Ray and ask him why he is NEVER in the shot when he asks the question....maybe see if he will go run these same questions around to others with him in front of the camera being able to see both Ray and the person he is questioning at the same time....

The utter blind belief is killing me here. This is as bad as the Bashar threads.....he and Ray should go on tour together.

my friend... it seems you suffer from both symptoms in your signature.

your signature is very reflective of what kind of person you are and how you think...

if you would like to debate the topic please do so, as this will be my last reply to you, you seemingly have nothing to offer in way of debate or calmness and coolness.

a typical atheists using evolution as a weapon to further your own religious beliefs and agenda.

I'm sorry....I seem to have missed your topic and ANY discussion you have made on it other than posting a video of a known fraud to back up a statement. There appears to be no point of discussion made in your OP.

YOU brought up the video as "evidence" and even go on to sarcastically imply that the people being interviewed are being stumped and we shouldn't be paying their salaries. I was merely pointing out that you are going to have to come up with something better than a Ray Comfort argument to make whatever topical point you say you have posted about....which the isn't one....only a statement that you don't believe in evolution anymore and use a video to back it up.

A year ago I was a person who accepted evolution as it is currently being used in academia, but as an observer of facts, evidence and discussions abroad I have come to the conclusion that it is something which requires faith to believe in and can not be proven.

a very good little video clip on the subject, including our up and coming academics and some of the teachers which instruct and teach them... paid for by the families and taxpayers.

thanks for watching

Interesting video.
I haven't made my way through it completely yet, but I too question the rote dogmatic scienctific establishment when it involves forcing their belief of evolution onto students.

Students are not taught logic and reason.
They are not taught how to think; however, they are taught what to think.

it's dressed up as "outcome based education".

I made a recent thread covering the same subject and in a similar tone.

I listened to the same supposedly 'credible' evidence, but no one could account for two mysteries that seem to baffle even the most learned of scholars concerning Darwinian Evolution.
All I received in response are a bunch of correlations.
Correlation is not causation.

I requested to have described to me-
1) Through the template of Darwinian Evolution, use facts to explain the missing link in human evolution, which is the jump in brain mass that is responsible for the ultimate survival of homo sapiens.

2) Explain to me how a path or direction of life can be charted when the very driving force behind evolution is random mutation. Someone posted a video explaining the common ancestor theory by a supposed fusion of chromosomes at a very specific site of sequenced human DNA. But what these people watching the video do not understand is that this supposed fusion is the result of a mutation, and mutations are totally unexplainable.

Essentially this supposed scientists was saying "It looks like it was fused, therefore it was fused."
I can not believe a supposed scientist would utter such nonsense.

Here's a link to my thread.

S & F.

I will respond again when I finish the video, but for now I wanted to throw that out there.
I am not trying to derail this thread. Sorry if it comes across as that. I am agreeing with you.

Cheers.

Religion requires people to believe in it. Evolution doesn't.

You and anyone or even everyone can spontaneously not believe in evolution, and, it'll still happen.

Darwin's theory of the evolution of our species from a single cell to the unimaginably complex, multi-cellular top of the food chain predator that we are today most certainly requires belief.
It requires belief that a force exists that defies the 2nd law of thermodynamics, thus creating expanding complexity, which is inherently contradictory to this law of physics.

That requires faith, because experiments cannot replicate it.

Right, now that I've finished laughing (almost hard enough to throw up), I suggest that you do a little basic research. As opposed to posting up a video of a charlatan.

Something still has to steer evolution. The vibration of this planet interacts with our DNA to make us look as we do. If this vibration changes too much, we will not be able to adapt but each generation can slowly adapt. I don't feel at home in many other places I have traveled to. I did feel at home in Montana, and also in Juneau Alaska. I felt at home near the mountains in Kentucky or Tennessee also. I live near trees and hills, I need to stay near these or I get antsy. This has to do with vibration and possibly energy flow. We can adapt to balance this, but that usually means we gain weight or sometimes lose weight. We lower our energy level to compensate. The weight loss or gain is not always fat.

Please explain how it requires a force exist that defies the 2nd law of thermodynamics. It deals with isolated systems of which the ONLY true example of is the entire universe itself. There is nothing that defies the 2nd law in evolution as there is nothing that says that a closed system (the universe) can't have order created within on a local level as well, as long as another part of the system is disordered.

I wonder if people here can figure out the difference in meaning of faith in these statements.

“I have faith that, because I accept Jesus as my personal savior, I will join my friends and family in Heaven.”
“My faith tells me that the Messiah has not yet come, but will someday.”
“I have strep throat, but I have faith that this penicillin will clear it up.”
“I have faith that when I martyr myself for Allah, I will receive 72 virgins in Paradise.”

Maybe I should make a thread about how people term faith.

Maybe you should make a thread regarding the vague nature of the term "god", where it came from and why, and how it has evolved over the years in correlation with various cultural and psychological factors.

Just a suggestion. I'll stop being off-topic now.

thanks for your insight and the link... of course I would be late in bringing something innovative to ATS with a new topic. I haven't been here in awhile, the format has changed... and I forgot to use the search function.

I had to make the statement though... I guess it can be seen as trolling? but something about this guy being a fraud is a little far reaching in my opinion. His questions are legit in this video and it does not matter if he is seen because you can tell the responses are direct responses to the questions being asked.

I wonder why evolutionist prefer to avoid the scientific method when the debate about Darwinian evolution is put on the table? I am really starting to suspect that it is not the true scientist at all who decide to put aside the scientific method as defined by scientist, rather I suspect it is the atheists who choose to use this science as a weapon.

Evolution being taught in schools the way it is without oversight and by professors (such as in the video) who are not knowledgeable themselves. Without balances and checks anything can run amok and lead to less desirable outcomes such as we are experiencing here with evolution being improperly taught in academia.

it seems to be leading to the antisocial disease known as atheism... when over 98% of the planet are theistic, this small minority of non-believers in anything are crying that they are being suppressed and seemingly holding people at hostage and doing more damage than good.

I believe in Evolution but not as it is taught. I believe something is steering it just like we have steered bacteria and other microbes to evolve faster. Something evolved humans, it wasn't random evolution Something steered us down the path we are going.

So then, I think that the two theories, evolution and creationism need to be combined.

Evolution is quintessentially nonrandom, my friend

Also, there's this thing called cultural evolution (click the hyperlink!). This research article supports the notion that cultural evolution works at a faster pace than biological evolution. It's much easier to spread units of culture ("memes") than genes.

Cultural evolution is definitely a factor in all of this. It decides what we eat, who we marry, where we live and what our traditions change to in the future. All these things can drive evolution. The theory of evolution has many flaws as originally written and adapted over the years.

I have faith when I believe in unseen evidence of Darwin's theory of Evolution.

I have faith in eugenics stemming from survival of the fittest and preservation of the favored races.
