Mysterious military exercise leads to gruff encounter

A man with a camera who stumbled on a military special forces exercise in a small Cape Breton town had his patriotism gruffly questioned by an undercover soldier, and was quizzed about whether he belonged to an anti-government movement.

Robert Westbrook said he was also threatened with arrest and he worried the undercover soldier would lash out and strike him.

This is pretty huge news for this region, things like this doesn't happen around here. It seems completely strange that Joint Task Force II would be pulling off something so sloppy, let alone in a town the size of Port Hawkesbury. The audio recording is shocking, quite frankly.

Not the first time. Whitehorse, 2006 ish. Long time First Nation hunters were intercepted by military personal and escorted away from the area of:
Lat. 60°45'48.98"N
Lon. 134°50'39.35"W

Was told they are now in a restricted area and for there safety they have to leave. They were immediately flown out in a Stallion to the Whitehorse airport.

Interesting to note, their weapons were never taken the whole time

It was good to hear the photographer assert his rights as a citizen and a photographer. The stance these military people can take is ludicrous if they only thought for a minute and realized "oh, we never notified the public, we're not in uniforms so how the hell could this guy even know why we're here?".
If that's the general level of intelligence among spec ops we're in big trouble.

Very difficult to see that event as a 'training' exercise, it makes no sense. The guy who remarked, 'patriotism' (which in itself was pathetic) was furious that they were being observed.
