Though to be fair, 2010/11 ended very mild


Edit: and March this year was cold (as was April) but winter 12/13 was only 0.4c below average. And that's compared with the warmer 81-10 average.

The bloke that dies of exposure (and indeed the others who did in previous winters, he wasn't alone) were nearly always on their way home after a night out and ill dressed for the weather. The amount of people that go out on a weekend and don't dress for "normal" weather is shocking, with the woman being the worst in skimpy outfits, it is hardly surprising that a few here and there end up freezing to death.
