typical Americans.. cant admit your society has a problem eh?
anyone with a valid opinion is mute because they don't agree with yours?
News flash, your no longer the world leaders for all things good in this world. The first part of fixing a problem is admitting you have one.

That's not fair.

I just previously posted a possible solution.

Death penalty to anyone who uses a firearm in the commission of a crime.

Easy-peasy.

sounds good to me.
But do you really think its going to stop psychopaths who intend on killing themselves along with their victims?

Maybe. Maybe not. But banning guns won't stop a true psychopath intent on killing either. I simply am offering a solution to the criminal problem.

Maybe something other than a complete loss of privacy.

I agree throws arms up in the air I want my privacy in public where everyone can see me stomps feet because this is a police state in the making and i won't have it posts on the internet and while i am at it, I want to be able to have my privacy online too so when i post things in public i dont want no one reading it googles nsa and google.

something fails when you expect privacy in broad day light. and it's not the lack of privacy.

I know I know, all the secret meetings under street lamps is now a thing of the past, thanks to the new world order. pretty soon, we wont be able to go out in public at all without people seeing us. or hearing us.

it's a crazy world we live in and no doubt if they have microphones and stuff now, imagine just what they had 20 years ago... I bet the government has had the ability to record voices for like, decades and stuff.

*really lost on this one, you guys are just frothing at the mouth at nothing*

Theres a difference between a public forum, and a public forum to be recorded and archived to be analyzed at a later date.

You went down to the park, you have a chat with someone there. You say something like "oh, i really dont like this politician". Now you've just expressed an opinion. Now imagine this opinion has been recorded and archived, and now you're being seen as a suspect in that politician's murder and they pull up this recording of you saying this line.
(this is just a really weak example)

Yes, even though you being out in public means that whatever you do people can see, but it would make you feel uncomfortable if your movements are tracked from one location to the next, like you're being kept tabs on. And having a connected, omnipresent tracking system can make that a breeze for those who wish to track you, your movements, your side conversations with strangers, your behaviors in public, your purchases, etc. Not exactly ready to be watched like a naughty child.

Sounds like conspiracy against rights to me. I have said the lights are fine for saving energy, but the cams and the microphones, to me it comes off as mass wiretapping and people making bunk excuses to condone it. The other issue I have after reading up on these lights is that they're connected to the grid and vulnerable to hack.

Its partly just a stupid idea, combined with a smart one and then a really nefarious and even criminal idea all mixed up.

People don't want to be watched like this, its too much. I personally hate having my picture taken without my permission. Its like those traffic lights that snap pictures of people plates and fines for not stopping immediately at a white line. Just plain out crooked and hatched out for money.
