Hmm so thats what the walking around space stations expansion looks like.
I started around 2004 i think it was, played for a few months then stopped, then came back around the time of Revelations 2 expansion then finally
stopped again around the time they did the faction warfare addon Empyrean Age I think it was, played through that expansions release for a few weeks
then gave in (the faction fighting was fun but got kinda old quick).
Sorta stopped around that time since I basically ran level 4 missions all day to buy GTC's to play more to get more GTC
not a good thing to waste
time doing (didnt help they stopped selling 60 day cards which let me spread out my isk farming a little so i could enjoy myself more), actually had a
personal manufacturing and research base going in 0.5 space but damn if it wasnt annoyingly long and tedious. I guess I wanted to be independent in a
game that forced you to either join a corp or go pirate as a lone wolf, and unfortunately I had neither the skills or the connections(desires) for
either.
Left it with Battle Ship lvl 5 on the training queue... unfortunately they halted the ability for your character to train with an inactive account a
short while after so I dont think it ever finished. Not that it matters dont think ill ever go back.
My nicely tricked out Caldari Navy battleship and Amar Curse still sits to this day in a hanger in Minmatar space (damned if i remember the
system).
Best ship I ever ran with though was my Minmatar Stealth Bomber (lost it only once)... some of the places I tried getting into with that thing made my
hair stand on end (and my head full of lvl 5 implants twitch in fear, couldnt be bothered running my clones since I couldnt be bothered waiting on the
body swap times). Nothing like watching from a distance as pirates blast poor saps at gates or isk farming convoys all the while doing my best not to
get picked up myself and trying to slip by em and back to safer space during the confusion.
It was a good game, but I think if you play it you gotta stay with it for the long haul or its not really worth it, especially if your more of a solo
player.
That being said I can always say i was there during the Bootini incident to witness the storm... boy was that a nightmare for alot of people
(thankfully my PC couldn't run the new engine so it didnt affect me since the issue was fixed by the time I switched to the new client)
Personally ive finally lost the drive for MMO's... which in my opinion is a good thing.
Oh and my characters name was Dapper Danny, spent alot of time in the rookie Minmitar channel since I didnt start my own corp (for building my base)
until a month or so before i stopped playing, game definitely got smaller once I left the Rookie corp
which reduced my interest in it... some of
the comments you'd get from people seeing someone with a whole lot of months on their play time still in the rookie corp was pricless but they where
fun times shepherding and giving guidance to young Minmatar warriors.
