We may all jest at the alleged limited American knowledge of world geography, so it is amusing to think that others find the geography of the United States just as baffling. Here's an Australian's take on the U.S., with no real prior knowledge.

Personally, my favourite is Rectangle. I hear the summers are nice there. Also my brother seems to have moved from Tennessee to (one of the many) Virginias without realising.

OK that's pretty funny. If they all covered the same territory as Texas it would be easier. Hell I have traveled through all of them but I sure can't name them all anymore especially up by puzzle pieces.

Unfortunately, I bet that kid would beat ours in a geography quiz, he even has opinions he isn't afraid to express.

Anyone who has ever planned a road trip that takes them through Kansas has uttered the term "Why did I think this would be a good idea?" It's so flat and boring, it makes Nebraska look thrilling in comparison.

I liked the idea of a state called "Rectangle" so much, I made a sign for it:

Haaha! All those Virginias.
This is so funny.

My own impromptu take on Australia would be, "The spike is called Queensland, the middle is the outback, and wait, there are states? I know the capital is Canberra, even though I could have sworn it was Sydney."

I envy Australia for their minimalist design. I couldn't memorize the location of each of the US states if my life depended on it.
