Seems that the court thought that the sentence of 130k kronor was too much because 'kids these days' are so used to sex and their privacy being shared on the net - and that the boy did not do it maliciously - to reduce the fine down by 80% to just 25k Kronor.

Meanwhile in England, MPs mad over privacy reduction on under 18s facebook accounts.

Is there some plot to strip more rights to privacy away younger than ever, and to reduce penalties for breaching the rules as they go?!

Seems creepy and worrying to me?! What do you think?

To be honest, 130k SEK was too high of a punishment for something like this. 25k seems more reasonable and enough to teach the kid a lesson. At the end the kid did not get away with it, simply his fine was reduced from the absurd amount it was at first. Whether I agree with the justification for doing this, 25k (4k dollars) is a reasonable fine for that, especially for a 17-year old.

I think he is damn lucky he isnt in the US...he would have been brought up on child pornography charges as well as possibly statutory rape. These are felony sentences and can carry over 20 year prison sentences, even for a dumb teen, and for the rest of their life, they have to be on a sex offender registry which means he can't live or work around children and many neighbors find out and nearly lynch the person, though they may not know the circumstances...lucky.

I think the boy should have gone to jail for at least six months and the twenty grand be awarded to the girl. It sets precedence for others to do this kind of stuff. There should be a stiff penalty.

What kind of societies are we creating in the world when this kind of stuff does not get punished properly. A teen age girl having sex with her boyfriend is natural but posting that stuff on a porno site is definitely not. My question is...what kind of perverts are in the judicial system that reversed the judgement. I guess the USA is not the only place where lack of morals at high levels of society is a problem.

Letting a kid take naked photos of her? what did she think will happen to those photo? stored in a safe place?

we all know how long these young love lasts right?

Giving twenty grand for her action will sent an awesome example for future "models".

He is lucky for not getting tried in a double standard justice system.

Throwing words like rape for crap like this what devalues the actual rape and the real victims.

By all, please continue to compare things, all it does is, when the real thing happens, people will brush it aside.


I'm also assuming in the video, the girl was not drugged, or tied down and forced to do the video, i bet she was very willing to go thru with this.. what did she thing will happen taking naked pictures and videos with a high school student? especially in this modern society where exposing parts of your body on webcam is more than common to get attention..

I am sure the boy got plenty of income from those porno movies. I knew couples who made movies of themselves in the past having sex and took pictures of their partners naked. These movies were never intended to be put on the net. People think of these kind of things as being a little exiting at the time, it doesn't mean one of them has the right to put them on a porn site without the consent of the other.

You are probably right, I suppose the guy should get five years in prison instead and the girl no financial gain. That would be acceptable to me to help keep this from ever happening to another person. The idea is to use this to deter others from repeating the act.

The point is to prevent people from doing stupid thing "even in the moment of excitement", which they will regret later.

Punishing one person for distributing does not stop the foolishness of the act. What we need is people being responsible for their actions, expect possible consequences.

Distribution without consent is wrong? of course..but at the same time, defending the girl is telling her "you can do whatever you want, your responsibility is void".

Lets say this was distributed and became a "illegal porn" and since both are underage, isn't she also a accomplish for the video, because she willingly did something that could become illegal if released?

Same here. It seems a bit unnerving. The biggest point in all of this to me is that loss of privacy is now the expected norm and even influencing court decisions. It has just become so common place that you have no rights to privacy so shut your pie hole if you feel violated. We own you now and your body, sex, and whatever is becoming community property.

That is what i took away from it too.

Its not the age of sexual actvity, 17 is perfectly legal to do all of the things the two did in their country - even posting it to a website may be legal there. Its just the age of privacy going public and the fact that the courts ruled, what seemed like a "everyone's doing it, so its okay" attitude that shocked me.

You are addressing another country's morals. And Sweden and all other Scandinavian countries have been extrememly liberal with sexual morality.

We may find it odd, but then...we dont live there. They accept a lot over there...and were some of the 1st countries to promote nudists and nudity.

I had an old girlfriend from Denmark in the late 60's...she laughed at how over here we think a copy of Playboy (back then) is scandalous. To them, it was no big deal. Also, seeing sex performed in public parks was nothing to them.

Its the way THEY do ans see things...not us...so no big thing! We really have to put ourselves in their society way of thinking before we shake our heads to something that is not important to them....

At no time did I say it was just that consentual sex between teenagers shohld result in only the male nearly always being charged with statutory rape. Personally, I think it is abhorrent. The fact that a teen can be charged with such a thing and have to wear it for the rest of his life really irks me. You can NEVER get rid of sex offender charges and websites will tell you just where these people live. Most don't list their actual charges as I was trying to say, but rather group real rapists and child molesters with a kid, who at sixteen had a consensual sexual encounter. Neighbors will break out windows or set the house or yard on fire...I actually knew someone this happened to. Luckily, the girl's parents testified for the boyfriend and the judge was smart enough to throw out the case.

Most people don't even get a fine for this. I would say getting fined is a step forward. Revenge porn is all over the net and almost none have ever been punished. I guess some see the glass as half empty though. Note to future bf's and gf's. Don't do porn. Don't let your bf or gf take naked pics of you either. People only think between their legs. Relationships do not last everyone's jumping around like its musical chairs. This is bound to happen.

Yes because its criminal to do that and what he did is like being raped or murdered, its a horrendous thing to do to someone.
