Evening people ,so the governments on shut down, the economy's on melt down ,fema camps and military grade police are on stand by to "deal with" people demonstrating against no food stamps, there a comet flying close to earth which we will probably get a sprinkling of debris falling on us, Japans nuclear problem could be multiplied several times if a typhoon hits the region, also the western allies are posed to start another foreign war or "hostile takeover" in Syria.
There is lots going on ,anybody want a grown up discussion on sensible solutions to any of the above mentioned issues? lets see how long before the trolls arrive

Shut down is over, economy is normal - not yet in meltdown( seeing the smiley faces this morning on New York Exchange) Fema camps are empty and quiet, military is always on stand by and dont care on food stamps , comet will pass away , western allies are far away from invasion on Syria. So why dont start play GTA 5 and leave current World affairs to grown and more educated people ?

Just another day at the office really.

Pick any random time in the countries history and you can form a list of things that are dooming the planet.

What about the comet?

* Comet ISON is not “Nibiru”, the ‘tenth planet’ destined to collide with, and destroy, Earth. (We know this because Nibiru is TOTALLY fictional, a fantasy made up by idiots with no knowledge of astronomy, and no willingness to learn anything about it).

* Comet ISON will not hit the Earth. (We know this because the comet’s orbit has been calculated with *great* accuracy, not just by NASA and ‘Officials’ but by many amateur astronomers, with their own equipment, completely independantly. In fact, in astronomical terms, we’re not even going to have a “near miss” with Comet ISON, which is a shame, because if it came closer we’d see it better…)

* Comet ISON’s arrival in the sky will not usher in a new Dark Age, herald the birth of the Antichrist, or trigger earthquakes or revolutions. Nor will it mean the onset of plaques, or the final clippy cloppy gallops of the Horsmen of the Apocalypse. (We know this because – well, it’s just crap, let’s be honest!)

* Comet ISON is NOT going to drag Mars out of its orbit and pull it towards the Earth. (I’m not making that up, some people actually believe that might happen…)

* Comet ISON is not (and boy, I love this!) “The Red Hand of Death”. It is not going to shower Earth with finger-like tendrils of poisonous chemicals and wipe us all out.

* Comet ISON is NOT … deep breath… an alien Habitat called “Xanterexx” with 1000s of alien beings on it. (We know this because – oh come on…!!!)

* Comet ISON is not “already pelting Earth with debris”, as some YouTube vids are showing. (We know this because the comet is currently further away than Mars, on the opposite side of the Sun, and its tail is pointing away from us, so it’s, you know, PHYSICALLY FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE!!!!)

* Comet ISON is NOT “changing course”, and “puzzling experts”. If experts are puzzled about anything it’s about how some people – people who are otherwise smart enough to use computers and the internet – are so bloody stupid and gullible, or both, that they actually believe this rubbish.

* Comet ISON can NOT cause solar flares “with its gravity”. Think about it… teeny tiny comet, made of ice, vs a HUGE bloated HUGE ball of ridiculously hot ball of gas. Which has the stronger gravity? Numpties.

Want to know the basic truth?

We know ALL those things are BS because Comet ISON – and the clue is in the name – is a COMET, a big ball of dirty ice, melting in the warmth and light of the Sun as it whizzes around it, and we’ll see it in our sky for a while before it heads back out into the darkness. End Of Story.

Well I won't stray too far off topic here as its not related but yes, the game is fun although the language is as foul as you would expect.

I think the point being addressed by that reference was the pure amount of violence in that game being representative of our societies in the real world when its actually not.

I agree with this. I see doom and gloom posts all the time on various conspiracy theory forums......for the past 10 years, and probably for much longer, people have been making threads about it - how everything is happening all at once, the world is ending, yada yada. Truth is, it ISNT ending, and business is normal as usual.

Sure, things are crazy at times....always have been. Nothing is truly "stable" in human history....there are just calm periods, and then turbulent periods.

I DO think we are living in interesting times.....but I don't really appreciate threads like this, where someone is yelling, "The sky is falling!" It just isn't true, and it doesn't do any good. More a reflection of your state of mind than anything, hehe.

What about it? It is a comet. There are MANY comets in our universe. No, it isn't a spaceship. No, it isn't the "blue kachina". No, it isn't on a collision course with Earth. No, it will not affect Earth in anyway.

Everything recently seems to be extreme in my opinion ,I mean potentially catastrophic for instance Japans nuclear reactor potentially able to poison the entire planet if left to the elements of nature for the next storm or earthquake to occur , or the potential economic collapse of the dollar causing a depression and unrest in the US , Again in the middle east with the recent Syria situation sabre rattling by the military and not forgetting the Comet that disturbing all in its path and wake , just saying its a mad time in which we live

I believe the phrase "Enjoy it while you can" is more suitable for the current state of human history.

Ignorance is bliss, everything is more peaceful with your eyes closed.
