The Japanese believe that an Oarfish showing up on or near a beach is a forewarning of a bad earthquake.

This Oarfish in the OP was caught near Catalina Island which is 22 miles S/SW of LA,California.

If you google "west coast tsunami/visions/dreams/youtube/quake" you will get plenty of videos posted in 2013 and earlier.

While I agree with your sentiments this is straight from the article:

"Jasmine Santana was shocked to see (a) half-dollar sized eye staring at her from the sandy bottom," the institute said in a statement.

"Her first reaction was to approach with caution, until she realised that it was dead."

The fish apparently died of natural causes.

So it looks like us people are off the hook this time.

The telepromter guy probaly typed in the wrong thing . Good thing he didnt put a ? mark at the end of it.

Interesting article, these fish generally live in deep water and are seldom seen. This one is believed to have died of natural causes. Apparently the grow up to 15 meters....thats what? 45feet or so? (im South African, we use meters lol).

I can see where some of the sea serpent stories come from, it does look kindy serpentine.

There are some photographs of one that washed up on shore in california in the 90's that is actually bigger. A bunch of soldiers found it and took a photo with it. That one measured 23 feet in length (compared to 17 feet in the OP's picture). Apparently they can get even larger than that, and can grow to 36-50 feet long.

There are now 2 oarfish that have been found, and there is a thread in the Prophecy forum reporting a lot of strange behavior in people's pets recently although that is being reported in the Pacific NW.

Let's hope the Japanese are wrong, but animals do sense these things and fish kills are a sign of tectonic activity. That's one big area for activity though.
