Explanations of what I saw if any?

Hi guys, so at around 9:30 mountain time here in Calgary Alberta I was driving home and I saw two giant lights hovering over the downtown area, (I live in a city of about 1.1 million people and I am 100% sure these were not street lights) but anyways they were both the size off the sun if you are looking at it in the sky they were fully spherical and were slowly alternating between blue, yellow and green but all at the same time, they may have been two helicopters but I have never seen a helicopter surrounded in a ball of light and one was offset diagonaly from the other by about 100 feet in altitude. Note that I was with my father, brother, and sister at the time and we all saw them, we started too drive towards them but when we got closer they seemed to disappear then appear above us. Id also like to know if any members from Calgary saw this as well. I just dont like big bright hovering balls hanging around

Not trying to put down anything you say, but could you tell me if it could have been holograms? We've all been waiting for someone to pull this off for a while now so that's the reason I ask.

Although I have no explanation for this persons observations .. But holograms ? My personal feeling about blue beam and holograms is that it's a load of waffle

I dont think we can project holograms like that just yet but that would be cool I hope its not the usual answer
