Interesting point of view about working in Hollywood and the present government: by James Woods

Woods has been critical of Obama before but in the past few days seems particularly incensed at the president’s handling of the partial government shutdown. He tweeted, for example: “This President is a true abomination. To have barricaded the WW2 vets, but allow illegal aliens privilege...” The tweet linked to a USA Today article.

On other occasions, Woods retweeted photos, articles and more about the shutdown, the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya, problems with Obamacare and the growing national debt. When linking to a New York Times story about a plan to allow noncitizens to monitor polling places in California, he joked that “dead democrats can vote multilingually now.”

Someone in one of the Tweets said something to the effect he would never work again in Hollywood...

"My country first" was his reply...

I was quite surprised when I read this and who it was coming from but in truth I don't read gossip columns or know much about actors other than the movie they were in was good or bad... Wonder when he will get a friendly visit from the IRS ?

From some of the things I've read about him in the past, he is pretty down to earth in some ways. I've seen it stated that he is one of the most intellectual actors in Hollywood.

There aren't many that I would listen to, but from the few interviews I've seen of his and articles about him, he would be one of the few I'd give the time of day without fear of being propagandized.

Anyone who would put their country first before their own welfare is not as common as it once was IMO. Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country comes to mind.. Thanks for the reply.

Looks like Woods needs to catch up on the news. The vets are allowed to go into the monuments and it wasn't illegals marching. Just another actor running his mouth about something he knows nothing about because he doesn't bother to check facts.

I like James Woods and he has a right to his opinion, even if he is right. His nemesis in this case kind of reminds me of Videodrome. What was he fighting against, programming people? Functional psychosis? What was his adversaries name, Barrack Oblivion?

He attended MIT for Political Science and dropped out prior to graduating to pursue acting. The rest is history. Furthermore, 'Hollywood' loves the collectivist agenda. Woods is a catagorically different actor based on that, alone.

Hes one of these solid actors who can actually play convincing roles, not like seeing some of today jokes roles Matt damon as some sort of space troop, Tom cruise as James bond, Georgy Clooney as a astronaut, do I need to say more. Hats off to James woods.

If you can find one, please let me know. I respect James Woods, but haven't seen any recent input of substance regarding his political ideology- only reasonably clever tweet-jabs at political opponents. The man should be running for political office or contributing substantive work to think-tanks, where conservative policy analysts could use a mind like his. Maybe this will be a turning point for him to get serious about taking a stance so that others, who may not be aware if his talents and intellect, can begin to take what he says seriously. Also, I gave you a star. Cheers, bud.
