Does it require an Xbox One? I was really interested in getting it for the Xbox One because of the projector sphere that would project the world onto the walls in my room

I'm not paying them 15$ a month ontop of the 70 to play their game.

It has 4 "classes", but every class can fulfill every role, you decide what you want your character to be. Lots of PvP .. or RvR I should say. Three teams, very much like DAoC.

Don't agree here with sub requirement games as better, especially with WOW. Paid subscription is rather passé compared to one time purchase pay, for basics most of the time however, as shown by success of newer games. For Elder Scrolls, I haven't gotten a Beta invite yet but with a monthly sub, I'll probably end up with GW2 instead.

What game can compare to WoW in terms of quality and content?

I have never played GW2, but have heard quite a few negative things about it.

Right now seems like GW2 nearly tops that(I'd say minus the less people and seems less role playing) more so that there's no monthly fee and newer content to new players. Rift could come in second, as it has better character development(soul trees) which WOW simplified. The graphics are more realistic. Also, such as, graphics with both(if one is into that) character appearance options. With GW2, similarly there's race based character zones and character animation similar, if not, better in detail than WOW. There's PVP "battlegrounds" for example as well. GW2 have free trial weekends once and a while to try out the game if interested.

I have not gotten into any modern MMOs, but I am thinking of giving this one a shot. It looks good and I am an avid Elder Scrolls fan.

Mostly I like how the focus isnt going to be on party play. I am mostly a single player and prefer single player games. It has been mentioned you could play most of this game alone, if you want to.

Unfortunately Illumiroom will not be a consumer tech for a while. News came out about a month ago about it being cost prohibative. It's thousands, not hundreds.

Here is an article,
www.theverge.com...

Same deal with Sony's VR headset. It's likt 1300 euros for the headset. We won't be seeing that for the PS4 anytime soon.

I enjoyed Rift, but found (at least when I played) people were far more elitist than in WoW. Neither of them are even close to the success WoW is. I say that as someone who stopped playing WoW 3 or 4 years ago. I have heard non stop how GW2 trying to get rid of the trinity has really destroyed the game.

Perhaps. The PvP aspect is definitely more of a multiplayer design though. As well as the better end game gear I am sure will require groups at the least.

When Blizzard comes out and openly LAUGHS at this concept of the pay to play MMO, you know you have a problem.

There's literally, absolutely no need to keep a subscription based model in the days of premium content.

It's really just a money grab, and it's insulting.

I think many more MMOs will go subscription in the future, far to many free to play MMOs are failing and shutting down, subscription games tend to corner a niche market and keep hold of their player base.
I will get the game and subscribe to ESOL until I get bored.
