Obamacare is the most ghoulish law America has passed in awhile. It's literally designed to kill the elderly and the disabled and it has nothing to do with the uninsured.

The problem is Medicare is structured like a Pyramid scheme. It depends on workers at the bottom of the pyramid to pay out benefits to those at the top of the pyramid. When the elderly start living longer and collecting benefits longer the pyramid starts to turn into a diamond. This is because you don't have enough workers to pay out benefits especially in a slow economy.

One of the reasons the elderly and disabled are living longer is because they use a lot of healthcare. This is why you have this boom in life expectancy which I think is a good thing. Obamacare is designed to bust the boom in life expectancy.

Say you have a healthcare system with a million people in it. The elderly and the disabled use most of the healthcare in this system. You then add 10 million people to this system. It means the elderly and disabled will not get the same level of healthcare. There's not enough Doctors to handle all of the patients.

So it has never been about the uninsured. The uninsured is made up of mostly young people that don't use a lot of healthcare. It's about diluting the current healthcare system so they can control the use of healthcare by the elderly and disabled.

It's a really sick law.

Waiting for the genetically-engineered Obamavirus to break out, which is incurable but non-fatal, very expensive to treat...and only effects low-income, healthy, Americans ages 18-35, who currently do not have healthcare.

Hay Granny! Don't fall down in the pig pen!

Yea, there was just to much such talk by Obama himself over the years to not believe that somewhere in that 2000+ pages of "bill", they can diminish care for the elderly.

That's a rather bold statement. Can you explain in more detail on how it was designed to kill old people?

(Under ObamaCare, IPAB's board of 15 presidentially appointed "experts" will be empowered to make arbitrary Medicare spending-cut decisions with virtually no congressional oversight or control.)

Dr. Donald Berwick, who headed the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, admitted as much when he opined: "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care — the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open."

From the WSJ:

In an op-ed last month in the Wall Street Journal that Palin could have written, Howard Dean, former head of the Democratic National Committee, called IPAB "essentially a health care rationing body" and said he believes it will fail.

"The IPAB will be able to stop certain treatments its members do not favor by simply setting rates to levels where no doctor or hospital will perform them," wrote Dean, who is also a physician. "Getting rid of the IPAB is something Democrats and Republicans ought to agree on."

Nope, I'm a realist that uses common sense.

Sadly, most people are sheep, so Obama says it's about insurance companies and the uninsured and some people will blindly follow.

It's about slowing down the increase in life expectancy for the elderly and disabled. Instead of restructuring Medicare, they have decided the program is more important than the lives of the elderly and disabled.

You can't add millions of people into the Healthcare system and expect the elderly and disabled to get the same level of care.

EXACTLY!!

It's about rationing healthcare especially for the elderly and disabled that use a lot of healthcare. It has NOTHING to do with the uninsured.

Don't you remember O-blaber himself talking about "quality of life" sort of means testing?

This ilk has made it clear that they don't believe in life extending surgery of say an 85 year old. Even if that surgery could give them another decade.

DONT fall down in the hog pen granny ma ma!

Insurance companies have been doing this for years and no one have complained about it. They decide which treatments they will pay for and when to cancel a policy.

What I am finding disturbing about this IPAB board, is that I am unable to find anyone yet whom has been appointed to it!!!

All kinds of how and who will appoint, but NOTHING on this boards actual members.......

If any ATS members can provide this, it would be appreciated. I need to have the names before I can check into who they actually are......

If you don't understand the difference between a private company that an individual can fire and go elsewhere for service and a government you have no say over, you are truly ignorant and probably shouldn't be posting on the subject.

I have heard of MANY horror stories of people complaining about how their insurance companies have treated them!!

Where ya been?

The will certainly have to localize the IPAB eventually. Or create a whole new bureaucracy with thousands of employees. This is how the ACA helps the economy. LOL
