The bill was passed without anyone reading it. They didn't vote for it because it was a good thing, they voted without knowing which is negligence.

They had to pass the bill to see what was in the bill......

Happens all the time from what I understand.

So that would make it ok? There are bills that are passed without large portions of congress reading them but the majority of bills get and can be read prior to them being voted on, heck 90% of the time there are full txts available buy the time they vote, we rarely see amendments that take place....

That is the problem with the program, it was never to take into consideration the very poor or needy and one of the reason the administration wanted to have expansion of Medicaid, that was to be the care for those that can not be taxed or mandated into the program.

But the supreme court stop that while holding the mandate AKA taxes.

From the government statistics they believe that is about 30 million uninsured in the nation, the government expect that 15.4 will be getting insurance under Obamacare, but what they need in order for the program to work is a good portion of the young and healthy to sign in first, about 2.7 million within the 18 to 35 range

Reality is different,

People are going to find out that Obamacare is not what it was sold to them to be, at least the very poor, is a different monster that people are starting to figure out now and getting worst.

I was watching some experts talking about the program and how the government needs to get certain amount of people to fill the quota and they predict this program to crash even before it gets started because the cost will be too big for the government budget to handle before it can get enough people to pay first, the subsidies alone will prove to be a challenge people sometimes forget that the program is funded by tax payers so expansion of Medicaid for the states that are to expand means more tax dollars funding, subsides to supplement those in the exchanges that will not fall under the Medicaid expansion means more tax payer funding but going directly to the insurance providers.

I can see this getting so over bloated that will implode creating a bigger debt than the one we already have.

I was trying to be funny.
I guess it didn't come across. Sometimes I have to laugh to keep from crying.

I don't think any bill should ever be passed until everyone voting has read it and passed a test on the information in it. It is ludicrous to me that anyone signs anything without reading it. If they can't pass the test then they lose the right to vote on it.

You could offer people a single payer public option. That is what everyone wanted anyway. Some kind of universal health care pan that everyone could use or even just the health care those do nothing alcoholics we have in Congress have. Why should we make sure they have health care before the rest of us regular people? Do they work harder? They work half as much, a quarter as much. And it IS a hundred thousand times more cost effective to take care of little problems before they become big problems. That is the idea behind any preventative health insurance plan. Essentially, guarantee the people affordable health care, and they won't need the Affordable Health Care Act.
Me, I'd like to go back to the days when we had one doctor for almost everything our entire lives and he was $50 a visit. Those were the days.

Something like Medicare ?

Just lower the age bracket in steps ? ( currently 65 )

Add to the payroll tax deduction ( currently 1.45% employee and matched by employer ) ?

Wonder what that 1.45% would have to be to cover all people in the U.S. ?

Hmmm.

Yep - that's what most folks want. But the loud ones call it socialism.

It's not a matter of just not liking it, it's a matter of it being unconstitutional. It's a matter of people who live pay check to pay check, riding the poverty line, being forced into finding a way to buy into a plan, because they don't qualify for medicaid (and there are plenty of people in that position). It's a matter of jobs, hours, and wages being lost.

The ACA caused me to lose my job and insurance. It's not a matter of just not liking it.

I'm sorry you 'lost' your job because of ACA. Care to elaborate? or is it a convenient story you are telling yourself.

Did your job provide any health care (that you could afford)?

Now you will problably qualify for Medicaid.

I seriously doubt you lost your job because of ACA - unless you worked for a 'wack-a-doodle' making a sick point.

The truth is that Obamacare only have one year to get implemented and able to fill the quota for implementation to be successful.

If the majority of people decide no to get into the program and the quota is not fill by the end of the next year the program will be a failure.

That is the reason why is so important for the program to get as many people as possible now, but what the program wants is the able young and healthy to start paying first, no the needy, poor and with pre existing conditions those will drain the program before it gets off the floor.

And just where do these 'facts' of yours come from? Sources please.

I get so angry when people just repeat crap they've heard without any verification.

I have heard that if they cannot get enough young and healthy people to sign up, that it will fold. I don't know if this is true. A lot of people I have been talking to are going to take the penalty for the next few years, so that alone might cause it to fail.

I still don't see how the people who live pay check to pay check, ride the poverty line, do not qualify for medicaid, are going to be able to buy a plan. Especially when $100 is a matter of eating or medication for some families.

Again you've heard - where - do you even bother to check out your sources (and their's) before passing on this stuff?

I'm so tired of "I've heard" or "A Friend of a friend said".

ACA is the law of the land

Yeah, what happened to conservatives always blabbing "we're a nation of laws"? But they refuse to follow laws passed under Obama.

Obviously to everyone that can comprehend what is going is that the obamacare bill is completely unconstitutional and null and void.. Oh, but I keep forgetting how Obama ignores that pesky constitution, and Obama worshipers don't even care about the constitution when it interferes with their idol's plans, so those that support Obama must also ignore what is legal and continue on as if it really is legal since they keep declaring it is a law. when it simply cannot be. The amount of Corruption being witnessed here is mind boggling.. It is simply incredible to see the insolence and defiance of people who are systematically pretending that the constitution doesn't matter at all if it interferes with what they wish to do..

And this has set a dangerous precedent that we have all been seeing that this act of defying the constitution is quite contagious with those that jump on this deviant bandwagon of American traitors.. Law enforcement agencies, federal police, Gun toting IRS enforcers now, all these things crawling out of the woodwork like a flesh eating disease and pretending that the bill of rights and the constitution is simply not valid if it stops these people including the MSM from doing what they want, no holds barred.

A "death spiral" happens when an insurance company gets more and more older and sicker customers, which raises their costs, which in turn forces them to raise their rates. When they raise the rates, fewer and fewer young and healthy people sign up, and their proportion of older and sicker people gets even worse, and their expenses go up.

Eventually, the health insurance program dies.

Aaaand this is exactly what is happening on a daily basis here in Germany. Big insurance companies cringing, destroyed by millions of people choosing another insurance company... NOT.

Because people are lazy. People stay. People trust their insurance companies (sorry, but that is a thing).

We have about 300 health-insurance companies. Sometimes a small one decides to merge with another or gets bought up. Even IF one of them goes bankrupt, the law says that the formerly insured people have the right to choose whatever insurance company they want and that company HAS TO ACCEPT THEM.

Excluded are healthinsurances for the more wealthy, those are more pricey and you have to have an income of about 4000 EUR/month to be qualified. The medical care is about the same, but you get some perks like hospitalrooms with 2 or 1 bed only, visits from the medical chief of the station granted and so on. And you get the invoice directly (to pay first and get the money from your insurance company later back), because your doctor doesn't have to hassle with your insurance himself - which on the other hand makes you a more important client to your doctor, so you will get appointments in shorter delay.

This is bully behavior.

ACA is the law of the land - just because you don't like it - doesn't make it wrong.

At one time;
Prohibition was law of the land.
Slavery was once, law of the land.
Segregation was once, law of the land.
No gay marriage was once, law of the land.
No abortions was once, law of the land.

I love how the progressives are now touting the "law of the land". (rolling eyes)
I guess we should all just shut up and obey, huh?
