Is that last picture the cave entrance? There seems to be a couple of trees at bottom right.

from the website -
"while an intrepid caver stands on the central ridge overlooking the cathedral-like Cloud Ladder Hall, where fog conceals the roof hundreds of metres above (right)"

so there is a "roof", must be sunlight getting in somewhere

That's relative. (imo)
Does a congregation of species make a "secret base"?
Like a hidden hive of bees?

There's a great documentary about this cave Discovery did a few years back.

The cave's weather system is somewhat of a myth, as that large area is nothing more than a collapsed part of the cave system. Still, that's a HUGE hole and an even larger cave!

If I lived in this area, I wouldn't even bother buying a house. Living off the land would be the way to go.

The unique organisms that they are walking on are amazing!!

So, are there any signs of people living there, cave drawings and such?

Don't ask me to do my own research, that's why I am here, tell me, lol

I would like to live there and set up my own colony.

I would call it the Kingdom of Mish.

Everyone is welcome in our self sufficient society.

Except the gnomes, Gnomes are forbidden in the Kingdom of Mish. They steal the socks out of dryers.

Is it just a big hole or really a lybrinth of passages? A meager three or four pictures does little to persuade that it's as huge as all that. After all, they said that there was an area which had been mines, with mounds of spoils and such. It can't be that 'new' and never before explored or known of.

You know the earth is such a wondrous planet and always full of surprise's. I don't know how who ever designated the 7 wonders of the world stopped at just 7.

Something like this has always fascinated me every sense I watched the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth. I can't believe I have not visited one of these site's by now.....never to late.

Great post, thanks !

Totally stunning and mind blowing! It's the best article I have seen in months.
It should be sealed to prevent it from being spoiled.
