I expected this, not to mention the Senate is expected to blue-line the rhetoric of the amendment Defunding Obamacare. You know the House won't get away with it, but you can't blame them for trying.
Up or down-- this thing for funding the great white-coated elephant is going to eat us alive if it passes now... it doesn't matter what your affiliation or idealogy, we can't afford the Affordable Care Act.

Here Comes The Next Step In The GOP Civil War: House Vote To Defund Obamacare

By Brett LoGiurato | Business Insider – minutes ago
AP

The House of Representatives is voting soon on a government spending bill that would keep the government funded past Sept. 30 — and would also strip funding for the Affordable Care Act.

The bill is expected to pass in the House, with most Republicans expected to support it with no help from Democrats. It will then head to the Democratic-controlled Senate, where Democrats are expected to have enough votes to strip from the bill the language that defunds Obamacare.

The vote in the House today comes after two weeks of House leadership struggling to find a strategy that avoids a government shutdown but also appeases the ultra-conservative wing of the party that wants to use the threat of a shutdown as a last-ditch effort to stop Obamacare, the implementation of whose main provisions starts next month.

Here we go, and no complaints or regrets. If the Senate blue lines the amendment to defund I WANT their names.

Appearance of effort is better than confirmation of defeatism.

“ultra conservative wing” hahaha, when was it a Ultra conservative winged idea to live within your means?

You know, if this debt keeps ticking up up and away, we are all going to be screwed when the dollar collapses.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot- I thought the house controlled the purse strings, shouldn't the senate vote be a moot point?

eta- had to go review the Constitution. Budget bills have to originate in the House, so with a little backbone, the house can strong arm the budget of their choice. With a little gumption, maybe the house can put Obama care to rest.

Stop calling it affordable care. It's supposed to be called Obamacare so people won't figure out what it actually is. Get with the program.

The sickcare industry is doing fine without it. Bonuses are at record levels and so are political contributions.

I just want this to pass so that Obama is forced to take responsibility for something. Either sign the bill and defund PPACA or veto it and shut down the government. No way to weasel out of that one. Though knowing him, he'll cook up some lie to make it look like it wasn't it his fault.

Monetarily speaking, it is the collapse of the dollar that is the only way out for the state!

The people be damned seems to be their plan.

Why not just submit a budget of $1 for ACA with language that going over budget nullifies the ACA with a 200 year moratorium on future budgeting?

It gets "funded" and will give zero effect on the people.
