According to scientists, this is the most relaxing tune ever recorded

Listened to the long version last night, pretty relaxing. Still I'd rather just have nature sounds.

Hmm, must depend on the person, I find a lot of rock music far more relaxing and soothing than that song. The beginning did sound a lot like the intro to "fly like an eagle" though, which to me is still a more relaxing and soothing tune.

I think if I was a surgeon I'd listen to tool while operating.

Relaxing or boring, I can't decide.

I'd rather Miles Davis 'Blue In Green'.

Yes! Another Miles fan! Love the guy and his music. I often fall asleep to "Cool Jazz". It just echo's through me.

Hi Purplmer, thanks for sharing this, I'm really enjoying it.

I think people needn't undermine this just because it didnt suit their taste or they were expecting to drop to the floor and snooze for the rest of their life.

It also take the cooperation of the mind, lay back, listen, enjoy.

I personally found it very relaxing to listen too, and so did my cats it seems.

I listened to the 8 minute song and suddenly found myself wanting to pay my tax bill, stand in front of my smart meter and go out and buy 18 loaves of healthy wholesome delicious multi-grain whole wheat bread.

This music alternates between making me feel very anxious and making me want to stab things (irritable).

Makes me wonder about these scientists and their real motives here.

ETA: I did not listen to the almost 10-hour version.

I think what the 'scientists' are on about is brain wave patterns n' such, which is fine.

Thankfully we're all different, and for the majority of people out there context plays a major role in what satisfies an individuals needs musically, be it for relaxation or otherwise, for better or worse.

IMO it is belittling to humanity to assume that we are so easily manipulated, but then again that idea is prevalent on ATS. Personally, I think each to his, or her, own. For me, it is self evident that absolutism is bound for failure, especially when it comes to adults, but hey what do I know, ask George Orwell.
