Just got a phone call about Syrian intervention

Some of the questions included,

If we knew the global economic impact of an intervention in Syria, should we do it regardless?

Should Canada be involved militarily?

If we don't get involved militarily will it have an economic impact on Canada?

Should we get involved because it's the 'right thing to do'?

Should Canadian Parliament reconvene to discuss a possible Syrian intervention?

Will the price of oil go up as a result?

The intervention aspect was clearly mentioned as being due to Chemical weapons,
now they were inquiring about whether we should be involved regardless of the global consequences.

I've never gotten a call like it before, it was automated, I just went along with it to see.
I'm surprised they ask for our input like this in such a manner.

I take it you must live in Canada?
I've only gotten one call like that ... it was 8 years ago about a US election.
I was hoping they'd give me a call about this Syria thing.

Yes, Vancouver. The research firm is based out of Toronto I found.

It was fairly detailed.

Wow ! At least they're seeking the opinions of the people. It seems like here in the US, our opinion means nothing. Hopefully yours does!!

The Protecteur class auxiliary oil replenishment (AOR) class are two vessels in service with the Royal Canadian Navy that are used to resupply vessels at sea. The ships were built in the 1960s by Saint John Shipbuilding of Saint John, NB.

The Protector was commissioned in 1969 one of the 2 of this class damaged.

The Iroquois class is a guided-missile destroyer in service with the Royal Canadian Navy. The four destroyers were designed in the late 1960s and built by Marine Industries and MIL-Davie Shipbuilding. Originally designed as anti-submarine warfare vessels, the ships underwent major retrofits in the 1990s and were re-purposed as area air defence destroyers. HMCS Huron was retired in 2000 and sunk in 2007, leaving three destroyers in the fleet.

The Algonquin commissioned in 1972 was one of 4 in this class damaged.

Built back when this was running 1st episodes...
