If you want to be part of providing feedback and input for a third time we will open up another all-access beta test for members. If after the final launch, you didn't participate in providing constructive feedback during the next open test of the final release candidate, you have no basis on which to gripe.

I want something like this:

this is just a few of the many changes I would start with:

Wondering if this version i going to have a New Topics - "new topic fire-hose" and "live headlines"? Fire-hose is frozen on my FF and Opera browsers for some days now on the old version. Similar would be Recent >New - here. I enjoyed with "fire-hose" as it didn't share member names as thread author. Without the author name it didn't appear as an "ignore" feature to those not wanting to visit a thread by someone they may not align with, taking away from the message by not clicking the messenger's thread, etc., which may be a pro or con for some. Sorry if I had missed an announcement on this.

Thanks. Hopefully they'll use some of the suggestions and the "many more" stuff as well...there's so much to change that I just got tired of doing it.

p.s. The dotted line in the picture is an artifact from taking the screen grab - it's not really on the page.

Certain banners on here give the script error. Its a Flash plugin that is doing it. The script error happens, then you can stop the script, then the failed plugin unhappy face loads in the place of the banner. Could be something as simply as updating Flash, FF, or that the banner is working on an older ver. of Flash with an updated browser, bla bla bla. I have yet to figure it out. But that only happens here and on Youtube for me using FF.

The 10' android tablet I am trialing 5.3 on, has a couple of issues.

1) Am unable to fully see the "alien" button to access account - drop-down
due to a small rectangular ad blocking said button.

2) Same with menu on upper left - once expanded the bottom icons are only partially visible.

3) Avatars are squashed and flat with no member stats obvious.

I understand that this may be adjusted in account settings ? ( see above )

I was having the same issue with the new chat. I did check out my flash just to make sure but nothing changed.

The new chat does not utilize Flash or Java.

Thank you SkepticOverlord, checking flash status was a last ditch effort to utilize the new chat. Other than my invisibility, it is beautiful.

It was a little disconcerting until I realized what was going on. I use chrome as well so I wonder if that is the issue.

Hey you got the right hand side lined up, between the header and the posts!

A number of people have mentioned that not only in this thread (including me back on page 4), but also in the previous thread.

I sketched moving the right side of the posts to align with the right side of the header.
It looks like you may have moved the right side of the header left to align with the right side of the posts...the only reason I didn't suggest this is I wasn't sure if it was possible but I think your image shows that it is.

Either way is fine with me as long as they are aligned. The header and posts were aligned on the old version and I don't see why they should me misaligned on the new version, as others have also noted.

So good job on the illustration, however I can't see your user name in your avatar area...you need the font to be a contrasting color to make it visible (I think there's a site rule about that, but regardless of the rules, it's helpful to be able to see who is making what posts).

Everything in that picture is possible - it wasn't an illustration per say - it's what www.abovetopsecret.com... really looks like in my browser.

I fixed my miniprofile text color, sorry about that.

We may have a bit of a delay until full-on launch as my other responsibilities are pressing for attention this week.

It would help speed the process, and be very helpful of some could volunteer to maintain a master-list of all the found issues broken down into these categories:

1) Things that break -- prevent functionality

2) Things that are wrong -- misplaced items or broken layout on desktops, tablets, and phones (Keep in mind that scaling your desktop browser to 320pixels wide will not deliver the phone version)

3) Things that need tweaking -- site colors, contrast, etc.

We'll keep this release candidate open and available for members to use and observe the changes.

I just have to say that while I wasn't initially thrilled about the new design, it's absolutely freakin' beautiful on my ipad!

Definately a quantum leap from where it was...

Nice job to all those who made that happen.

1)Still can't unflag a thread I've flagged as I mentioned in the ALL MEMBERS: We may be launching ATS.5/3 today thread

2) In the current interface we have the "show ribbon" button at the bottom right. Within the ribbon one can click on "My Posts" and "My Threads"

In the new 5.3 interface is the only way to go to one's own past posts and threads by going into one's profile by using the down arrow in the upper right, then clicking on profile, then clicking either on posts or threads? Is it possible to include a "Posts" button and a "Threads' button in the new ribbon? It would save a few extra clicks.

I'm still having an issue that if I quote someone that has a quote in their post everything is deleted except the very outside quote box.. I havn't mentioned that one yet.

No it's not just you. I also see it as a problem. One extra level would be helpful, so 2 levels max as someone else suggested would be helpful.

The rulemakers seem to think one level is always enough...I disagree.

The workaround of course is to quote both posts separately in a non-nested fashion, and this way it doesn't break the rules, but then you lose the relative context and it's just a lot more work to do it that way, so in that respect the rule seems bad.

However I do side with the rulemakers that nested quotes can get out of hand when they go more than 2 levels deep. If the original statement that gives context is nested 4 quotes deep, in that case it would make sense to just present whatever you need to give it proper context, which isn't going to be all 4 nested quotes.

Each launching of a new product requires an event like inviting a personality,to give the necessary importance to that event, this way the members will come in big numbers to test that new product.IMHO

But will be very interesting to test one of the first variants of ATS by comparison to see how the things were at the beginning this way for everyone to see the difference between a Ford T and a modern car.

A very interesting guest would be Colin Powell ex Secretary of State,he is a good person and certainly he will accept the invitation to discuss the Syrian war, with the new ATS 5.3 fully released, the members will come in big numbers and this way they will use the new ATS,which will become normality, after this meeting with such a great personality.

Yea ok.. I thought it was a glitch.. I'll be going this way from now on. Not too big a deal I guess.
In the interest on context that is.

On other sites, to see quoted posts, you have to click on a special button or link. When you do, the thread display for the currently read post expands to show the history- with all the nested quotes included... albeit usually with a slightly smaller font.
