Such a vote is tantamount to a very British coup d'etat. The sitting government is no longer in the driver's seat when it comes to foreign policy in the Middle East. Though the action was achieved by only a small number of votes over those wanting warfare, it is noteworthy also as a posthumous rejection of Tony Blair and the lies that took the Anglosphere to invasion and occupation in Iraq.
