I am a long time viewer (like most) first time poster. Just wanted to say hello and thanks to all who make this site awesome!

I also realize I can't make a post about something unless I have 20 posts. Sucks since I had a video I took to share that I found interesting ( and I know nothing about astronomy so I just wanted some valuable insight!)

Hello, Sarah, and welcome! I watched your video. The flashes look like lightning. You can see the clouds in front of the lightning flashes, indicating cloud-to-cloud lightning was happening. Also looks like some breaks in the clouds and you can catch some meteors burning up.

That looks really cool whatever it is, I wish the clouds weren't in the way but that's the way things happen sometimes.

Odd video! There are flashes of lightning it appears but the red "bursts" look like some kind of fireball, but they don't "streak" like any meteor I've seen.

I'm no meteorologist but possibly a combination of atmosphere plus meteors? I can only guess.

Thanks for sharing, you should maybe repost this as it's own thread after you get 20 posts and you'll get a better chance at getting a possible answer.
