And someone needs to define 'prexisting condition'

Because obviously that is a medical condition that usually classifies people as disabled, that already can get coverage under Medicare/Medicaid.

Being anti-religion means being anti-crazy. However, I'm sure there are Christians who interpret the Bible according to ethics. I have nothing against ethics.

You should have continued instead of stopping at universal healthcare. But just to answer your question on monopoly, universal healthcare is publically owned, if banks were also I wouldn't complain.

Saying insurance companies don't offer public ownership via stocks?

So do banks.

Hmmm.

other than the fact that our govenment runs our health care,
and people are not left to die,
and a trip to the hospital is not $20,000

government operators are half price,
as compared to private.

we need to set up a non profit health insurance company,
a co-op of doctors and nurses,
and a non profit insurance that spends all profit on new hospitals,

Sure it is private business is quite adept at making money government is quite adept at blowing money, and in this persons opinion don't want them anywhere near my healthcare.

See that is the greatest thing about choice.

Private business wasn't handling health care too well, a law requiring all americans to go to those same private businesses isn't the solution and that is basically what Obamacare is. Absent that law we are still left with private business controlling our health. Neither option sounds good to me and as I stated in my 1st post, I know universal care won't happen here so what is the capitalist solution?

Because of political manpulation that made it more expensive so they could offer the solution of 'Obamacare' which as their own people have said is a stepping stone to a single payer.

Sorry don't believe it is the government jobs to give or run corporate products never will.

Capitalizm isn't the perfect system. Where the rich have it all and the poor because they maybe were born into poverty can't even afford to break an arm or it will could mean they die for lack of healthcare. They're all about free education for all, why not graduate to becoming a modern first world country where everyone gets free healthcare too. Wow what a revelation. Congrats you're officially a modern first world country with all the basic necessities of life, see we all knew you could do it!!

Yeah lets drag religion into this argument as well, this fellow is
a moron, forcing someone to pay for something they could not
afford before the rate hikes that have happened and from what
i understand will happen in the near future is a punishment not
a help in any way shape or form.

I cannot afford the prices they charge for health insurance, the
problem is that they refuse to fix the real issue which is cost of
healthcare, i am livid over this entire debacle, forcing everyone
to buy a baseball just makes the fellow who makes baseballs
really rich, we so desperately need to reign in the cost of healthcare
it is just about insane at this point.

If we refuse to fix the real problems, things like make a budget and
stick to it, reform the cost of healthcare to be realistic, stop allowing
everyone and their uncles cousins brother to sue because they stubbed
a toe, i am about sick of the ideals these short sighted thieves have.

Medicare is being civilized as opposed to demons in training. The energies of Mom and Dad, have to go hand in hand in a perfect marriage, that is Equality and Freedom.
Is that how they do it up north? Good to know..

Why maintain cruelty, that costs far more, than the countries you think are socialist, and I've never been ashamed of democratic socialism, but yours costs so much more to be unbalanced and ruthless.
Why beat around the bush - the only perfect (for all) system is one of a socialist/communist one. That way everyone is taken care of. No need to worry about costs and unbalance then.

Dog eat dog, survival of the fittest is primitive lower mind, jungle boy regression. At a much higher cost, percentage wise.
It is what makes evolution of the fittest work. It's been going that way forever...but people like you know better than mother nature. Not saying the current capitalistic system the USA embraces/embodies evolution, but since the USA is the most powerful nation ever to exist in written history MUST mean it's doing something right. Note-Capitalism embodies every deadly sin preached by the Catholic Church.

And in the right winged politics, supposedly on the side of business and economy, it harms the economy and closes down the small businesses whenver anything that is essential, is higher cost.
Your socialist system has no need for small businesses. Only big companies are a benefit to the state and its future growth. Google WinCo and see what true freedom is. Your fear of big business, free economy, and true freedom seems to be clouding your 'good' judgment. Time to make an appointment with your free doctor for medication that'll reprogram your way of thinking. (Which is the way Merica seems to be headed-so given time, all will be like the blind north of Merica).

And you get the happy happy joy joy of being the worst first world country with the least honor, for the inequality you shove in torturous fashion down your fellow citizens throat and YET are stupid enough to pay more for it.

edit on 18-8-2013 by Unity_99 because: (no reason given)

There is a reason why people from all parts of the world pay a crap-ton of monies to learn from the best. Those who can't afford it, go elsewhere...the ones left over, head to Canada. There is no perfect system, but for now, there seems to be a best. If Canada's is the best, ALL other countries would use the exact same model. But all countries don't use Canada or the USA as a model for healthcare. They seem to do a good job of F'n things up on their own.

Just like communism, universal healthcare will crumble. Socialism (and all its entitlements) is (are) currently destroying Europe. Soon, that pressure will be felt 'up there.' By then, the oddball 'last industrialized' country not to have a universal healthcare system will have made a working system. Will it be fair...heck no. Life isn't fair, it never has been and it will never be.

I wonder if all these people who say, "Life isn't fair. Get used to it." have something to gain from unfairness.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

While I don't think Obamacare is the greatest, if you want to get technical about it, then Schultz is correct....

Denying a section of the population medical treatment due to the greed of a few, is unchristian. Socialism, and (true) Communism is the most Christian forms of government. That is why people of the cloth live in “communes”, and why Christ and his disciples lived from a “common” purse.

The same thing applies to anyone claiming to be Christian, yet worrying about illegal aliens... They are not really Christians. This applies to the majority of “conservative Christians" I know. There is a biblical term for these people who put their personal “greed” and the systems “rules” (which they lobbied for), above helping their fellow man, they're called “Pharisees”.

Now for just a few words of Christ in support of what I'm stating:

Matthew 25-
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Matthew 5-
41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

An regarding “Christians” being worried that “obamacare” or “illegal aliens” will ruin our economy:

Matthew 6-
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

The fact of the matter is that anyone worried more about our economy, or what they are “paying into the system”, or “what its going to do to their business”, is NOT a Christian anywhere but in their own fantasies. This is what they really have to look forward too:

Matthew 7-
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Schultz is dead on telling you to truth here, not giving you BS “to scratch your itching ears”...

2 Timothy 4:3-
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

@video

I've been watching all these folks debate about healthcare. I cant believe its come down to peoples faith.
I can tell you what the pope recently tweeted.

"We cannot sleep peacefully while babies are dying of hunger and the elderly are without medical assistance."

O.o I will not take a side on this one, but I will hold both sides to their words. If this healthcare thing (no matter how it goes, repealed or implemented) causes people to die? Guess who gets to wear that nasty shirt.

Might wanna make damn sure you ALL know what you're doing.
