I've heard a lot of extremely base, commercial, exists-purely-to-sell-calculated-units-in-target-market-demographic stuff over the course of my life. I'm someone who loves music obsessively and without music probably wouldn't have made it through my adolescence. I love nothing more than sitting or laying down with a pair of reference quality cans on, turning off the lights, closing my eyes, and intently listening to music. Preferably music that I find expressive. Music that either moves me, or is trying to say something.

With that said, that's my taste. If there's one thing I abhor more than commercialized, base, inane music designed to do nothing but make money, it's elitism. I don't believe in "bests" or "worsts." I listen to what I love. Everyone else does the same. I'll leave it at that.

Peace.

You're being way too harsh to the Bobby Goldboro's "Honey", but his hair style is most certainly a candidate for worst hair cut/doo.

Trivia on "Fish Heads": One of the two musicians in the duo Barnes and Barnes, who created this song, is Bill Muny, who is the actor who played Will Robinson in "Lost in Space."

I'm only going to reply to the last line of your post. Metallica is more then capable of playing that place. And blowing the roof off. They could easily put together a 15 song set that would blow Slayer or any other band there away,if they really wanted to. I can name them right now.

Battery,Creeping Death,The Four Horsemen,Whiplash,No Remorse,For Whom the Bell Tolls,Damage Inc,Blackened,Harverster Of Sorrow,Sad But True,Master Of Puppets,Ride the Lightning,The End Of the Line,The Unforgiven,Through The Never,The Shortest Straw,Motorbreath... Jump In the Fire,Leper Messiah. The Thing That Should Not Be.

Pick any variety of those and compare them to slayer. Really now?

I had completely forgotten about Eddie Murphy's attempt at breaking into the Pop Music Industry.

Apparently, you're not alone in thinking that 'Party All The Time' belongs high up on the list of 'Worst Songs Ever'. This list was supposedly from a VH1 show that aired in 2004. I don't necessarily agree with all of their picks, but I do agree with most of them. Many of them have already been posted in this thread.

noted.blogs.com...

After looking through it again, I don't think they were actually going for the '50 Worst Ever'. Looks more like they were only using sucky songs that did become Hit Singles.

This↓one's kinda funny. Stupid..... but funny.

My wife has what is best described as an appalling taste in music and her record collection is grounds for divorce.

I have quite an extensive and eclectic record collection, one day / night / next day some mates were round and we were having a few drinks and things and we got round to playing a few vinyls. One of mates pulled out a copy of 'We Built This City' by Starship. I can honestly say I had never seen this before and certainly hadn't bought it.....but nevertheless my mates proceeded to rip the piss out of me and it is quite frequently brought up in conversation when they wish to embarrass and show me up.
My wife thought it was hilarious and to this day denies all knowledge as to how that record ended up in one of my boxes.

Some terrible songs on that list, the only one that I'm quite surprised at is 4 Non Blondes.

During my High School years, I was pretty much continuously sticking crap on my walls. From Heavy Metal magazines, Grunge, psychedelic/trippy images, various flyers, whatever, etc..... Eventually, it had become somewhat layered. Nothing was completely covered, but many things had become partially covered.

One day while I wasn't in there, a friend of mine had found a 'Nelson' CD. (A couple blond haired lesbian twins). I had an idea of where it may have come from, but wasn't positive. I just knew it wasn't mine, and it was never put into my cd player. The cd booklet folded out maybe 6 times, and was a small poster of those 2 blond chicks.

He had taken a few things off the wall, and then put that one up, and then put the other stuff back up over top of it, to cover the corners. Their faces and hair was all still right there, but since he had done it that way, it wasn't exactly obvious. I never even noticed it. lol.

After awhile, I guess he just couldn't take it anymore. We were just sitting there, and he said, "WTF!?! Why do you have a Nelson poster on your wall?"

My response was about the same: "WTF!?! Why do I have a Nelson poster on my wall??"

Quite some time later, he eventually came clean, and told me he had done it, and that it had been there for about a month or so before he pointed it out to me. It was right there in the middle of the wall. I just didn't notice.lol.

Of course, his version of the events is simplified a bit. He just says that when I was in High School, I loved Nelson sooooo much that I had put a big poster of them up on my wall.lol

I believe this may be what I consider the WORST song ever. I would listen to Chirpy Cheep, Rick Aston, Eddie Murphy or Taylor Swift and like it, if I were threatened with this horrible, vile abomination. The fact that it has 34,000 'likes' just proves my point. The record buying public is ultra-clueless.
Because of this song, Michael Bolton should be administered a daily beating for the remainder of his life.

I have to agree with many of the choices being presented but.....

Having had to play a number of songs while spinning wax at both large and smaller venues, this was "my" most annoying & worst song ever to get charted.

Does anyone remember Biz Markie's "Just a Friend"? (Start about the 3 minute mark).

I disagree about Metallica. ...And Justice For All is still a great album, even though there's no damned bass on it(part of that blame is on Newstead, he even admitted it recently on That Metal Show). Early prog metal, as there wasn't much around then, and they blew it after that. Nothing they will ever do will compare to that album.

On topic, I'll go with Doo Wah Diddy, or whatever the hell that lame ass "tune" from Manfred Mann is called. Makes me projectile vomit repeatedly. Oh, and that lousy Dawson's Creek tune from Paula Cole. Someone should have shot her for that one.
