An excellent OP and I feel for you suffering sleep paralysis for that long,so frequently and intensity.
Nearly 17 years ago Iwent through a period of about a year when it occured maybe 7 or 8 times in total so I know what a terrifying experience it can
be.
Particularly as I'd never heard of SP when it first happened to me so I didn't have a clue what was happening that first time.
All I knew was I had woken up,I lay down on the couch and dozed off then a short while later I woke but couldnt move at all, couldnt twitch a muscle my
whole body completely unresponsive,numb.
I couldn't open my eyes either,I was literally trapped within my own but seemingly paralysed body and naturally as the seconds passed and I still had
no feeling in any part of my body I began to panic.
Not having the faintest idea whether it was temporary or something had 'snapped' as I slept and it was permanant I could feel the fear take
hold.Funny enough I had no trouble feeling fear.
What made it absurd was as I lay trapped in a waking nightmare I could hear the t.v and even stranger I heard my dad n girlfriend chatting quite
normally and I wanted to scream 'help me' but couldnt twitch even my eyelid.
I tried to overcome my fear, settle my mind and work out what was going on.
Was I paralysed for life or would it wear off ?? Sounds strange but I had no idea what was happening, all i knew i was able to breathe ok so I wasn't
dying in my sleep which had crossed my mind by then.
I figured I've no feeling anywhere so I'm very unlikely to suddenly get my body back just like that but I thought if I could try with everything i
had to make my little finger move then it meant whatever was going on I wasnt permenantly paralysed at least.
So I concentrated all my willpower focusing on my finger. It twitched slightly and I felt elated and began trying again moving it millimetres now but
it was getting easier until I regained control of iit, then control of my body and then my eyes opened.Sitting for a heartbeat i stood up and went out
into the yard just moving about.
I had no idea what had happened but I was so thankful I wasnt still on the couch unable to move,i just wanted to forget it happened besides I knew
they nod at me if I told them about it n tell me I'd been dreaming but I knew I wasn't.
That time there was no noise,no entitys,no aliens, demons or gods just being trapped in my 'dead' body.
Anyway it was maybe 6 months later n I was sleeping on my mates floor when it happened again.Still had no idea what was going on but I knew what to
expect.
Except this time I had this loud noise in my ears.if you were to switch on your t.v but unplug the aeriel, satelitte box,DVD player too so it was
untuned and showing a screen of snow.then hike the volume up full,it was that exact static, electric hissing sound but like I had loud earphones on my
ears.
I used the same technique as before to break out of it.it happened a handful more times over a few months, the same thing with the loud
electric,interference/white noise sound in my ears.By the end it was annoying not frightening and it's not happened in 16-17 years
The hissing sound makes me wonder if it's a short curcuit in the brain causing it ??
