If the enemy wish to concentrate themselves in highly visible and easily located structures, I'm not sure we should discourage them.
Frankly, it seems rather convenient, and I imagine our commanders hope they continue to do what they have been doing.
In war, predictability is the greatest liability.
Also, what makes you so sure the mosques aren't being monitored? Coalition troops aren't needed for that -- there are plenty of Iraqis happy to take
the job in exchange for cash.
Why deploy troops when a 500lb bomb will do? In light of all the complaining about airstrikes, Coalition forces must be using them quite liberally.
