Why America, Towards the Middle East, IS the “Great Satan.

First, It’s unequivocal support of Israel.

The USA KNEW and KNOWS that the Arab Middle East is, was, and still is: a Powder Keg. A trip wire that will ignite at a whisper.

Parenthetically to this point: Israel, BTW, also knows how to push the buttons of the Arabs, for as you may have noticed in the present “peace talks” Israel, AGAIN, as they ALWAYS have done, approves settlements in the middle of these “peace talks” and just like the many other times in the past where at the beginning of “peace talks” Israel just happens to approve illegal settlements and guess what ALWAYS happens?

The ARABS ABANDON THE TALKS! Look for that to occur soon, unless the Arabs finally get wise to these tricks.

Anyway, back to the “Great Satan” the US OF A.

Look at the Middle East and every country their in turmoil, particularly Iraq, and examine the etiology behind this turmoil, whether it be Bush’s illegal, immoral, demonic, war on Iraq, or the bombing of Libya for the so-called Libyan freedom fighters, or their attempt at undermining the Syrian society by supporting barbaric “ freedom fighters” or the droning of poor old Yemen and making half that country into anxiety ridden peasants scared #less of drones, and you see the USA behind all these evils afflicting these Arab countries.

Look at how the US has jerked around Egypt. For years extorting the military with its yearly billion dollars gratuity it dangles to the Army to do its bidding and then all of a sudden the USA gets a conscience and throws old Mubarak to the wolves.

AND ALL OF A SUDDEN EGYPT IS SUPPOSED TO BECOME A DREAM DEMOCRACY!

Okay so they elect a guy and lo and behold he is overthrown after a year in office by the army in a coup that is not a coup, since if it is then the army in Egypt can’t get it billion dollar bribe to behave.

I know how the US can justify giving the Army that billion. All they have to do is say that the coup wasn’t done by the Army, no it was done by the proverbial:

ARAB STREET!

Nice to see someone address the topic from their perspective. And imagine - they don't even have the same rights to media we do (or didn't). Stories are passed down, and even small things can become large (associating USA with war, hardship, etc - just by our presence). Cultural differences have not been respected in too many cases and it has reverberated through all aspects of culture in some cases.

Most americans want to get out of the middle east entirely - but the assholes in our gov't are making too much money off of their CIA poppy farming.

We don't need their oil - as much as they need us to buy their oil.

Not at all, since this has nothing to do with religion but how the Middle East, save Israel, views the USA. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that with all the wars and backing of oppressive and tyrannical regimes why they refer to the USA as the Great Satan. The masters of evil and doers thereof.

The evil the USA does seems to know no bounds, secret prisons where torture rules supreme and once there there's no escape. Drones that indiscriminately murder innocent people, overthrowing of legitimate governments and then murdering the leader or having hired rebels do it for you. This is not something new, it has been going on since the 1920's and it doesn't look like the USA is about to change its ways anytime soon. The only thing they are hoping for is an end to such evil. But I guess if you live in the USA, you don't see a problem.

You know what gets me about this whole reasoning. If the argument is not coming from people in the ME, it is usually coming from other westerners out of a twisted notion of guilt.

What, you think we command Europe and Australia and that is why they send troops and equipment to our war zones?

Really though. The west is not perfect and it does do bad things, because it is made up of people. The ME isnt any better, and if it had half the chance would invade Europe all over again. I am a Spaniard. My people know of the MIddle east and its intentions with the rest of the world....what did you forget the 800 years of Moor enslavement that Spain was subject to?... That could have spread to all of Europe mind you had it not been for the crusades keeping our enemies defending their lands. Turkey would have conquered Greece in the last 50 years for example if the west was not as strong as it is. Think about that.

So the west isnt perfect, but guess what, every single game changer for the human condition in the last 200 years came from our end of the woods. I am including Europe here. The west has made the wealth of human knowledge available at your fingertips, has enhanced life expectancy, discovered secrets of our universe... just made great advances in all areas of human development.

What is the middle East´s plan? The perpetuation of Violent Traditions globally, a male dominated world in the worst sense possible, absolute intolerance, and conquest....ect. They want to erase the last 200 years of thought and progress because it is not convenient to them....They want to empower who?

The U.S. is called the "Great Satan" because we're the ones who always supply "Little Satan" (Israel) with everything they need to keep the surrounding Muslims in the Middle East in check. It is the Muslim extremists' goal to take back the entire land of Israel for Islam. The U.S. keeps them from doing it.

The Moors, according to many historians, took Europe out of the dark ages and sparked the renaissance.
For that pre-modern era people were relatively free, unlike the later period of the inquisition after the Spanish took Spain and murdered Jews, Muslims and anyone that wasn’t a catholic.

Whereas under the Moors even the Jews had a golden age and where able to practice their religion as well as Christians.

I pretty much agree with this reasoning.

Especially the part about, how much further we have advance, without the west, women would not be equal, slaves would still be owned. We would never have advanced in tech like we have. We would still be living in clay shacks and dying for yet another BS religion to prop up some ruler.

Even though we are still ruled by the elite, at least we are moving forward away from the religious dogma that has plague this planet for far too long.

Religion is in my opinion, the single most reason for war and deaths in recorded history.

The issue is not democracy but that Shariah law is not democracy or legitimate - a fact Muslims cannot accept. The Islamic brotherhood instigated a false premise of democracy and the Egyptian people saw this: this was also seen with Hamas & Arafat, the most non-democratic groups touting democracy, when they really mean un-acceptable Shariah law, the antithesis of democracy.
