Well, it looks like that is exactly what the upper brass decided to do once these men told them their story. Back then it must have been `He is just adjusting after retuning from the skies. Give him a shower and a warm bed, He will be fine.` Cloud sickness or some odd name like that is all they could come up with at the time. Cheers to these guys for speaking publicly about their experience when the government says nothing odd happened at all.
