Is your personal information the new gold standard? You bet. And that's precisely how its being treated: as a physical resource. It's being hoarded and stored, not used for much beyond blowing ads across your broadside.

Security? The Boston bombing exploded that myth. You can monitor and collect someone's surfing habits and correspondence for years, but without the ability to efficiently and accurately collate and interpret that data, you may as well be squatting on a pile of useless dook.

And, apparently, that's where we're at.

In ten years, it will be a whole other story. The means of collection and storage will likely become more accessible to the public, as well as the ability to pull meaning from it. Maybe then, rather than being turned out for commercial interests, or exploited for state control, something a helluva lot more exciting can be done with that info.

data-mining... both mega-data on the populations and individual dossiers

the more data to crunch the more detailed the answers to the questions they ask will be

somehow the technicans have convinced the top brass that we operate in certain guidelines of behavior and enough data will refine a persons or groups future actions to a factor of greater than 90+ %

there are almost unlimited uses for behavior trends...on the personal level and in the societal levels

next...it could be possible to create a digital lifescape that could incriminate anyone of most anything, now that is power....enough power to convince every person to accept the mark , because they have no choice as everyone is between a rock-&-a-hard-place
aka: Hobson's Choice [i.e. a choice between 2 equally bad things]

Governments gather people's information so they can predict and plan for our future, politically, financially and spiritually. They also do it to avoid unwanted upcoming issues and conflicts....They do not leave the matters to chance or luck or peoples sudden reaction when there are trillions of dollars involved...Most corporations also do spy on their employees and clients....This is the information era we are living in,,it goes both ways you know.

Minority Report for 2014

The most insidious aspect of general surveillance is not illegal privacy invasion. It is even not the full personal history that enables indefinite retroactive incrimination.

The biggest danger lies from exclusive access to large data sets unavailable to others. Mining this data may provide novel actionable inferences, existence of which is out of grasp of the general public.

Just as hypothetical example, there may be a correlation between higher ratio of electronic contacts with close friends compared to other contacts, and number of people rallying on streets week later. Another artificial example would be stronger than random correlation between using certain words together in messages and anti-government sentiment developing several months later. Inferences like these would give government peek into possible futures and opportunity to proactively intervene before anything happens. It would be very hard for the general public to match such precog machinery.

This sounds like sci-fi, but data mining in newly available data sets does more often than not result in major discoveries. The first part of the discovery is observed causality. The actual mechanism may be discovered later or never, but that doesn't stop you from using the learned causality to your advantage. Insurance companies make real money from actuarial tables.

TPTB are in the phase of paranoia. They realize people are waking up to what they are up to. Their agenda is quickening and they need as much information as possible as to who will be the frontline resistance.
They tell us that they listen out for chatter with certain keywords. These keywords 'they tell us' include things like b-o-m-b, etc. IMO, this is a lie. They are listening for keywords that could give away any possible resistance group, however, they will not admit this and you will not know what those keywords are.
Think about it for a minute. If they 'really' wanted to catch 'terrorists' online and keywords was one of their tools, do you REALLY think they would tell you ? seriously ? and even tell you the keywords they listen for. That tool becomes USELESS if they tell the terrorists HOW they catch them ! It's a lie, a deception. They are listening for VERY different keywords. You may be able to guess many when you realise who they are 'really' after. Most on here have been typing them day in, day out and not even realizing it.
They are trying to find just 'HOW' many are awakening and how quickly the information is spreading. This is very important information to them indeed. Just as WE all want/need to know how long we have before the point of no return, THEY TOO need to know how long they have before they HAVE to stamp the foot down to keep in full control.
They are are scared, paranoid and sweating, just like any other would be dictatorship.

Knowledge is power and these guys are stockpiling quite a bit of knowledge. One thing about power, if you have some of it, you will eventually want more of it. Hence the saying power corrupts (and absolute power corrupts absolutely)

While having the names of 5000 child-porn-buying pentagon employees might be helpful for blackmail, gathering personal info (+GPS coordinates) on the common man/woman is most likely to be used for total control and/or extermination.

Make no mistake, we have criminal monsters running this country, our military and our police. What they are doing to foreign nationals today, they will be doing to us tomorrow.

I'd give anything to see your face when it starts.

If you want to examine real timetables, look to history. Hitler and Stalin have well documented records of mass murder. Stalin actually went beyond simple mass murder. He murdered an entire country when they resisted collectivization (Ukraine). He also exterminated a large volume of Polish officer corps.

First, it is not the governments job to babysit my children, its mine.

Second, my child is not in any virtual or otherwise 'prison' when I know at all times where they are and who they are with and who is supervising them... that is called responsible parenting and this has been a requirement for parenting since time immemorial

Without such responsible parenting my child could get hit by a car, bit by a snake or any other multitude of accidents quicker than they might get taken by a child predator.... the government makes for a poor parent no matter how much they watch and track our every move and convo.

Third, any child predator has to register with the sheriffs department and get approval for any move to any new residence for as long as they shall live. These people are already being monitored for the rest of their lives. Also, where they live is a matter of public record, you can find out when one moves into your neighborhood and get the rest of your neighborhood involved in saying no, they cant live in our neighborhood... sheriff's are elected after all.

Fourth - if the internet is involved in any child predators crimes it is also illegal for them to have a computer and internet access for the rest of their lives provided the judge saw fit to include this into their terms and conditions of release.

Strawman arguments are ridiculous btw.

Data miining is not going to keep me and my family any safer, it is going to put us at greater risk when the opportunity to misuse and misappropriate all this data comes into play. I don't live in Nazi Germany, but from the sounds of it, soon we will be freer there than in the "land of the free'

A person can think all the evil they want, it is not evil, until it becomes action.... because until that time no harm has been done. Not even God punishes for your thoughts, only the works of your hands....

It is for the reason of watch this hand pay no notice to the other , yes some info gets leaked out , so we will get on that band wagon but behind the curtain of blackness there are other programs and measures more sinister going on , we are to busy discussing the one why not seeing nor knowing the other.
It's OBVIOUS that 'they' are gathering people's information, BUT WHY? 3 reasons
1)To know who is for TPTB: NWO, NSA, CIA, DHS, TSA and LEO'S.
2) To know whom is against TPTB: NSA, FBI, DHS, TSA, and LEO's
3) One they have their list and one more act ie 9/11 event takes place, the round up can begin. Why so their is no one left to complain to be a throne in their side, If the Redcoat's had the same info in 1774 there would have been no 1776. this is the main reason for the NSA spying on the web /Net ,Phones emails, and your mail is not just for terrorist, but to keep an eye on them of us, that has had enough of them, Them being NSA DHS TSA FBI CIA LEO's being the true enemy of us that stand for the Constitution of the United States as a whole www.archives.gov... for it is the only thing standing in the way of NWO and the new Redcoats take over of the US. OS who are the new Redcoats?
Any one that seeks to take away your freedoms the right to own a firearm.
the right to say what you think, ie, making this post
the right to complain about them in power,ie GOP DEM
the right to own property,ie with out being forced out by some corporation that wants your 's
the right to have or not have Ins.ie "Obama care"
the right to have not have ID, ie , Real ID act.
the right to travel freely with out being on a list or going through scans. ie TSA check points. Just some of the rights you are losing ever day , and willingly to TBTB for in the name of Security and the greater good of all.

In the United Kingdom, surveillance is pretty far advanced. Cars leaving towns and cities are routinely logged by number plate recognition cameras at all major junctions. Unless you have good local knowledge of how to avoid them, these camera can be used to trace vehicle movements without much difficulty in real time. Urban surveillance cameras, in pretty much every urban shopping centre and major stores contribute to facial recognition databases. Just how effective this techniique is is demonstrated by the relative ease with which people involved in riots in London and other major cities in the summer of 2011 were soon picked up and dealt with by the courts, even though the police did not intervene very quickly at the time, preferring to stand back until they had reinforcements.
Facial recognition technology is now about to move forward substantially. Newspapers here are talking about facial recognition allied with mobile phone technology being used to positively identify people transacting business and making payments for services, so that one will no longer need to to sign for anything or use a PIN number to validate a card purchase.
Scary or what?

Monitoring all the electricity based circuits for more than 40 years.

Are you saying that we are

NO WHERE NEARER

to their FINAL SOLUTION

than they were 40 years ago?

I don't know if the rumors about 800 death camps in the USA alone are anywhere near accurate.

However, knowing their values and goals after studying them since 1965 . . . I'd say that's not far fetched at all.

If anyone really believes that we are no nearer to utter global tyranny as described in the Bible for the same era that Israel became a nation again in . . .

then I'm mostly at a loss for words.

The handwriting is on thousands of walls in neon lights and colors.

But then . . . I know, I know . . . none are so blind as those who WILL NOT see, I realize.

It still boggles the mind to see it lived out all over everywhere . . . particularly the MSM.

Let's say a man, a very bad man, likes raping little boys. He has done it once, and has been to prison and done his time. Now he's out, and moves to your neighborhood, where you have a little boy. You have seen him sitting on his front porch, watching your little boy play with other little boys in your front yard. Sitting on one's porch is not against the law, correct?

Let's say this man has a previous M.O. of getting on kid's social websites before he moves on to the next step of going after a little boy. He doesn't do anything illegal on these websites - he just looks. But it gets him excited enough to move on to the next step. Would you want the government to monitor what he looks at on the internet, so they can see if he is starting to look at those websites? Do you want your little boy to be raped first before any action is taken? How do you think this situation should be handled if it were your little boy that he's watching? I know how I would like it to be handled if it were my little boy. I want the authorities to be watching every move he makes, including online. If he starts going on those kid's social websites, I want him gone.

Yes, I am responsible for my kid, but I don't want my innocent child to be kept in a virtual prison in order to make sure that guy doesn't hurt him. Why should my kid - who hasn't done anything - be the one locked away to be kept safe?

Hi Kaylaluv! I'm OB's husband. I'm going to pretty much stay out of this one, but thought that a little commentary on this reply would not be remiss, given the nature of the hypothetical postulate.

I can assure you that should I see a known child predator gazing wistfully at my child, I will without a doubt have a "word of prayer" with him. At that point in his life, whether the government is watching his internet connection will be the least of his worries. No government intervention is really needed in the situation you have developed here, nor is it even particularly wanted.

There is absolutely no fathomable reason that they should dragnet-watch everyone's online life to prevent this hypothetical neighbor you speak of from IM-ing my child. No reason at all that everyone on Earth should be under the gun because bad people will do bad things. It would seem to make more sense to concentrate on the Bad People, who are doing Bad Things, than to keep tabs on EVERYONE in the dragnet.

No one needs to know what I typed at Yahoo in order to catch a child molester. That would actually be counter-productive - too much info, not enough action, and none of the info actionable.

Seeing that neighborhood molester gaze wistfully at my child? Now THAT is actionable intelligence!

I see it a lil like the movie Minority Report, they wanna control the masses before anything contrary to their interests actually happens. All they care about is $$$$ and control. The more they know, the better.

The answer is simple. Behavioral and predictive social modeling.

Remember the days when people would say that Presidents ( Clinton was often cited ) were slaves to public opinion polls? Well now opinion polls have gone the way of the horse and buggy. Today one can get a very strong indication of public opinion simply by analyzing their Tweets, FB status changes, text messages, blog posts, forum posts etc.

A big enough computer system with enough bandwidth ( cough cough BUMBLEHIVE IN UTAH cough cough ) could analyze these things in real time and spit out a myriad of analyses on demand.

In fact, that sort of data crunching power can then be used to compare past events and the reactions to them - seeking out predictive patterns. Once those patterns are recognized they can be used to manipulate the population in a predictable and deliberate manner. Militarize that process?

What you're left with is a painful new reality. All circuses and no bread. A new paradigm.
