Yeah, but that isn't the drones fault. That is the fault of policy.

The fact of the matter is the drone excels at killing things.

The POLICY of their use however, is what leads to a breakdown of structure.

Yes, I am blaming the man, not the machine. The man was Bush, now it is Obama.
Drones certainly have their place in today's world, but killing civilians in a country with which we are not at war is not what they should be used for.

We're getting to that point. Both X-47Bs automatically made the decision to abort landing attempts on the USS George Bush during their testing. One of them made the decision on two separate attempts on the same flight. The first one made the decision not only to abort, but to return to land afterwards.

Imagine getting a job at a fortune 500 company, with all KINDS of new ideas about how you are going to 'change' the company. A few weeks into the job, it becomes crystal clear WHO works for WHO. If you want to keep that shiny new job, you better do as you're told.


It is the same thing with Presidency. Sure, some of Obama's promises were egotistical and naive. However, many of them were simply left for dead, dropped once those who really run things whispered in his ear over and over just how easy it is to ruin his life.

If you think that isn't how it works, I'm sorry to say, it is. Whether Obama had good intentions or not....do you HONESTLY think it matters? They wouldn't let him do anything they didn't want done.

He will take credit for the few things that go right, but he passes everything else off.
Remember when he said, 'The IRS scandal? What's that? The first I heard about it was when I saw the news this morning!'
He IS the Commander in Chief, he is the one ultimately responsible.

Harry truman had the sign on his desk, 'The Buck Stops Here'. He advertised that he was in charge and responsible. This lame excuse that we have for a POTUS now is not ashamed to say, 'I don't know anything about that!'

Erm... that's not the case, friend. What macman says is true - and Obama has DIRECT say so on drone strikes - he has meetings every Tuesday to decide who gets put on the drone hit list - and then JSOC and contractors take care of it. MANY drone strikes kill civilians, and targeted bombings, Hellfire missiles are ripping people to shreds. They call themselves "surgical forces", rather than "sledgehammer" forces - but they MISS or aim at the WRONG VEHICLES or "assume" they know where the HVTs (High Value Targets" are, when they are often wrong.

Read or watch Dirty Wars if you want to smarten up on the "LMAO-worthiness" of this subject.

You know the phrase "signature drone strikes"? Yeah, it means LITERALLY, he PERSONALLY SIGNS OFF on the drone strikes.

I'm pissed off that I voted for that man, TWICE - he's just as bad as the terrorists he's 'picking off'. He's making things WORSE.

Gonna blame someone, blame the right group. US military and defense contractors are responsible for everything drone-related.

I give advice to my boss who has very limited knowledge on what I do but in the end he makes the final call whether right or wrong.

If his decision is right or wrong he gets in trouble for it.

If i make an autonomous decision and it goes wrong it is my bosses butt on the line even if i was the one who made the decision..

Simple... he is the boss and he is supposed to be in control of the situation. If I am making important decisions without him then he is a poor leader for not making it clear he is the boss and he makes the big decisions.


you really have no clue what a leader is.

I'm actually working on getting a specialized degree in UAV piloting at the moment. They aren't really bad, especially the ones that don't require remote pilots. Every horrible thing about them you know is the fault of some careless UAV pilot really, they aren't as careful as they need to be sometimes. What's really scary about drones are the things you don't hear/read about! There are some truly crazy beasties brewing in the governments drone cauldron.

I love all nationalities, but I live next to a handyman security guard for the studios, and I believe he made a planeless drone, just keeping the electro-shock-type-wave bull# to interfere with my cell communication, as well as thinking.
