Britian's Online Porn Ban due to? (Aliens? World War?)

If i was going to control a population, the LAST thing I would do was make it harder for men to find that "release" of their testosterone and calm them selves down. I guess this is the proof we need that TPTB are not trying to make their citizens docile. Pending world war or alien invasion must be coming up soon and Britian is prepairing. I mean, can you not all see it? It's so plainly obvious. I mean we know what politicans are like deep down inside, anyone honestly believe they want to stop porn? Are they trying to horde the porn and use it as a commidity (ammo/guns, Gas, Food, Porn) for trade after money is no good?

This, and they have been removing the floride from water all across the world. Time to make the monkey's agressive again.

I would suggest it's to stop the perverted criminal scum who manage to put very young girls, dress them up like a child then sexually abuse them, then call it porn.
It's just so wrong in every way.

Well, on a brighter side, you still have an imagination. We can get our brains to work a bit harder rather than letting a porno do 50% of the work for us.

I will admit, that this whole porn thing doesn't phase me. And, i do understand that we all differ, i get that

The problems with this are myriad though...

For starters, how do you define porn? To some, classical paintings of nude women are porn. So, is the Louvre website included in the ban?

Then, there is the issue of the government regulating what is, and what is not moral. That's a pretty slippery slope. Give an inch, they take a mile. Where will it end with this going through? Are sexy shows and commercials next?

Also, there's the issue of a waste of money. Tools already exist for parents to limit exposure. If used, they work fine.

Perhaps the biggest problem though, is that they will planting the seeds for another branch of organized crime. Anytime you ban something popular, organized crime will fill the need. Yes, I know one could opt to receive the porn, but most folks probably want that private, so now you've created a black market need. Good job government!

if a neighbour has unsecured network and access to porn is he now a criminal if your child goes on his wifi and watches it... slippery slippery slope

Well, that is fine I suppose. Porn is one thing that one can live without.
This doesn't even affect me really, though it also makes one think if there is any hidden motive to it all.

Just the Daily Mail setting government policies. With their moral panics the British public lap up. It was a campaign by the Daily Mail to bring in this ban. Probably to drive more attention to their own smutty sidebar of shame.

Until you start seeing empty spots on the walls in the art museums where paintings used to be, missing banned books from the library, etc., all in the name of removing "porn" from the public.

Maybe they'll ban violence next? The Disney cartoon Tarzan is a sure bet. It's got a hanging, a shooting, a stabbing, and other body counts.

Same neighbor instead charges his discreet neighboring dads a monthly rate in exchange for the password to his wifi. That's what I'd do, hehe... Remember that organized crime I talked about? Outside his neighborhood, he branches out selling jump drives of such material.

This is also anti-marriage. Cheating will be on the rise, I'm sure plenty of people can't have their cable bill saying "porn access" listed under their internet charges. Which raises the next question, will their be a fee to unblock it? That would be extorting the porn industry no?

There are so many ways to get around it technically though, I fail to see how they can realistically enforce this. And those methods will become highly publicized.
